A trip down memory lane with Berlin locals: You will meet two Berlin locals- from East and West and you will find out about their life's in the GDR and in West Berlin before the Berlin Wall came down and after 30 years of being reunified as a country. We'll talk about our personal life experience in Berlin, about society's and community's that came out of two different political systems and about an typical East- and West Berliner. We'll start the experience at the historical former checkpoint Bornholmer strasse, where the Berlin Wall first fell and talk about the Cold War time, why the Berlin Wall was built and why it fell. Regina was demonstrating for freedom, every Monday...and I grew up in West Berlin, the Island in the communism. Life there was also completely different compare to West Germany and of course different to the East. We walk (2km) on the "No mans land", an area that is not at all touristic, to an cozy cafeteria where we can have a coffee or cake and the time to go in deeper conversations. In the end of the experience we visit the most popular park in Berlin- "Mauerpark" with the biggest flea market on weekends, live karaoke, underground vibes and legal graffiti art on the former hidden East Berlin Wall. Eventually there we will end the experience.
