Since food is an important part of our daily life and every culture has its own origin, recipes and way of preparing it, I am going to start the class with the introduction about momo and how it came into existence in our culture.
Following that I will take you to the local market to show you how to pick the ingredient and where to get Organic, local products here in Leh. Buying and Choosing the right ingredient is the biggest part of cooking.
After buying all the necessary ingredients, we will start the cooking class, where I will give you all the necessary equipments and instruction.
We will begin by making the dough for the Momo, followed by chopping the right amount of vegetable with proper propotion, and then I will show you how to mix the vegetables and spices (according to your preference). Then comes the most interesting part of our cooking class, making momo, I will be teaching you, all shapes of momo, their names and most importantly all the different ways to make the shape of a momo.
We will steam the momo, we can also Fry, bake and boil.
While the momos getting ready I will also show you the recipe and the way to make special soup that goes with the momo.
At the end, we will all sit down and you will be able to enjoy the momos made by yourself while having a discussion on cooking (if you like).
