We 'll meet in Marseille, where we will visit the local Marché des Capucins. Fresh food stalls, fruit and vegetables, spices, market with Arab and African influences.
We'll also visit a hidden gem, an old fashioned boutique selling all kinds of specialized cookware and last but not least we'll visit a herb pharmacy and spice shop.
Afterwards we'll travel to Roquevaire, about 30 minutes drive.
We'll welcome you to our home, where, while sitting in the sun with a tea or coffee, we’ll talk you through the menu of the day and the ingredients. We'll use local, fresh, seasonal and high quality products where possible. We’ll share our tips and tricks with you.
Weather permitting, we'll cook and eat outside, using our outdoor kitchen.
The class, without the visit, is 3 hours, hands on, talking & cooking & table setting & eating.
We'll make the lunch together, example of a lunch could be :
- home made flat breads with spiced yogurt
- vegetarian bhajias or chaat
- stuffed spiced aubergines and/or peppers
- a fish, meat or chicken curry or massala
- chocolate filo pastries with a dip
As we cook with the seasons the dishes will vary depending on available produce.
