This experience is a culinary immersion into the Sicilian way to enjoy seafood with friends and family. During this hands-on cooking class, you will prep and cook three beautiful dishes using sustainable seafood from local sources and organic produce from micro farmers located in the San Diego region. Our menu is always seasonal and includes two Sicilian seafood specialties like octopus or sea urchin, etc., and one traditional veggie dish like caponata or other.
This is the occasion for you to learn more about local fishermen, our local food system and ways to recognize freshness in fish. You will also learn how traditions and the exciting history of influences from the Arabs, Greeks, Spanish and French have all contributed to a cuisine that is uniquely Sicilian.
I like to welcome my guests at my charming house in Golden Hill (close to Downtown San Diego) with a nice aperitivo and conclude the experience with one of our signature desserts. You are welcome to bring your favorite beverage. You will love our bohemian ambience and the social interaction with other guests.
