Our organic village farm is a great place to see just how vegetables, eggs and table poultry are raised for top quality chemical free food. We will take you on a farm tour so you can see first hand where food comes from, experience a tasting plate of vegetables you harvest as we take you around the market garden, where you can learn about the vegetables & how they grow, and how we raise our farm animals. We have a lovely flock of egg laying hens and ducks whose eggs you can collect. We grow vegetables using "bio intensive poly culture" which allows us to grow over 3.8 tonne a year in less than 1000 square meters. You can order a box of freshly harvested vegetables in advance of your visit, and buy eggs & preserves to take home if you wish. We sometimes have sheep and pigs too, but only three at a time because the farm is small. We have none now because the the harsh drought. We are growing food in Australia's coldest climate outside of Alpine regions. In winter you can see how this is achieved using cover cropping. In our hot dry summers you can see have we use various garden practices to insulate plants from the heat and grow species suited to the climate. When you visit you will also have the chance to ask questions and discuss any aspect of the farm, its animals and its operation.
