This means checking out a neighborhood district, drinking taps from neighborhood breweries, and getting the neighborhood perspective by interacting with someone who lives here! By the end of the walking tour, we’ll have made a mildly-inebriated adventure from seeing why the people of Portland are the attraction of the city. People who find this tour meaningful: 1. People who prefer a Drink, Eat, Drink night rather than a Drink, Drink, Drink night. 2. People who prefer to explore with welcoming friends rather than alone. 3. People who enjoy open-minded discussions and appreciate collecting new perspectives. 4. People with no time to grow roots in the city, but want to know where they'd hang out if they lived here. Multnomah Zen, a four waterfall scenic hiking experience
Multnomah Falls and other waterfalls and vistas of the Columbia Gorge are astonishing icons of geology, the sort that have inspired mythology and lore of warriors, gods and passions in every world culture. Meet the tallest waterfall in the state, and a few of the shorter but even more stunning ones, too; falls which could only be the daughters and sons of legend. In this half-day experience, we will explore wonders with some short hikes (totaling less than 2.5 miles/4 km) and visits to overlooks and vistas that will have you gasping in awe. While Multnomah Falls and its iconic Benson Bridge are together the most-visited tourist attraction in the Portland area, they are only a part of our experience. We will meet at our shop in inner SE Portland, where we'll ride in our comfortable Sprinter and Transit vans to the nearby gorge. Depending on weather conditions, we could visit a few small hidden waterfalls or spectacular plunge-style falls whose columnar basalt has us learning words for "amazing" in other languages. We'll also tell you stories, geology, botany and oft-repeated tales of pioneers and road-builders, but also the old stories we've learned, of gods and wild spirits and about the oldest North American civilization, forever altered by “manifest destiny." Please note we book directly as well as through AirBNB, and your group may be up to 10.
Fragrance Design Workshop
We’ll introduce you to the process and materials that comprise fragrance creation. We'll spend about half the workshop smelling our way through a selection of over 30 raw ingredients, while discussing fragrance and blending techniques. You'll spend the remainder of the workshop developing and blending your own fragrance, with tips and pointers along the way. After this, you'll turn your fragrance into an oil-based roll-on personal fragrance. You’ll take home your very own scent creation compounded and mixed into a 10mL roll-on bottle of perfume. Other things to note: Avoid wearing strong fragrances to this workshop as it may disrupt yours' and others' olfactory experience.
Portland's Underground Donut Tour
On this tour, you'll join me as we explore the city and food culture through the medium of donuts. You'll learn history of Portland, each donut location, how they fit into the larger food scene, as well as try some amazing donuts. We start near the PSU campus where we begin at Sesame Donuts and try some of their amazing sesame donuts as well as many others. We then take a nice walk through central Portland over to Fills Donuts to sample some of their daily specials. Their menu changes often. From there, it's off to NOLA Doughnuts where we'll sample beignets and some of the best chocolate donuts you've ever had. We'll finish the tour at Voodoo Doughnuts, where you can even skip the line (sometimes a 30-60 minute ordeal). We hope you can join us! Other things to note Currently, many of these shops do not have gluten free or vegan options, so options are very limited.

Immersive Chinese tea experience in a private tea house
Immersive tea tasting in our little tea house, featuring different tabletop flower arrangements and aromatherapy every week!. There will be Chinese style tea art demonstrations and on certain holidays Guzheng ( Chinese musical instrument) performances. Guests will choose between black tea, oolong tea, yellow tea, green tea, dark tea and scented teas from China at different tea tasting times. I have been in touch with tea since I was 10 years of age and it has always been a part of my life. I am a landscape architect and an enthusiastic tea artist. After I moved to America, my partner and husband Joseph singlehandedly built the tea house for me, according to my design. Everything including the slab table was made by Joseph over a period of two years. Now I would like to share with others this tea house full of love energy and my love of Chinese tea, the etiquette of drinking tea and interesting stories of China. NOTE FROM HUSBAND JOE: I personally built this tea house for my Chinese wife, just for her to share tea culture with others.
Walk around Portland to explore its soul
Where has Portland come from, where is it going? Why has it come into national attention? Get introduced to Portland's soul with a walk through the downtown's core, starting with parks and art museums and the decisions that led to what the city looks like today. From cast iron-fronted buildings to the grandly disastrous post-modern Portland Building, much of Portland's history can be told through the buildings and street layouts; most importantly, the prioritization of parks throughout the city center. How did the city's early urban planners decide on their layouts? How do modern designers look at the past and plan for the future? Who are the people these streets are named for? What's with all the roses? It's not a dry history: full of back-room deals, early deaths and greed; and then there were hippies! We won't stop at the history from the books and the museums, but we'll lead you into the present, looking at what brought the city to its modern conflicts, racial justice protests, the tension between Portlanders and their mayor (no matter who holds the office), and how the city has changed to fit the pandemic and the forces which will shape its immediate future. We'd be remiss without letting this lead into food! So we'll end the tour with a radiating recommendation matrix, starting in the food carts in the city's center and leading out to the restaurants on the east side
Bike Around Portland to Culture and Art
Beautiful bikes, beautiful rides, and all our neighborhood secrets. On our tours we'll smell roses, taste treats, ride across bridges, and along rivers; it's the best way to experience the diversity of culture, art, poetry, nature, parks and neighborhoods in Portland. Our approach is to spend more time riding, but lots of time stopping at gardens, art installations, sculptures and poetry beaches. We start in the inner Eastside at our shop at 833 SE Main St #121, where we will fit you for a bike and helmet, ready for an 8-10 mile ride. We head out into Ladd’s Addition, to our fave rose garden, into an art-heavy industrial district, across the sexy Tilikum Bridge, and onto Portland's waterfront. We’ll ride along the water before we head over another bridge back to our shop! Portland is not just a city of seamless bicycle infrastructure and friendly relations between cyclists and motorists, but also a city of poets. Literally, figuratively, our bike ride is a poem; a series of poems; to our city. We'll read poetry written on murals, in sidewalks, and carved in rocks. There is, too, the whirling poetry of wheels on pavement, the sweet suspension of effort that is cycling on the streets and pathways in this place we love. Portland mornings are cool -- bring layers! It rains often in Portland; rain jackets are wise. Minimal bike experience is ok; none, is not.

Explore Local Oddities with Odd Local
POP QUIZ: Are you here to absorb authentic Portland culture? BONUS CREDIT: Are you trying to live like a local while you are? Because Portland is a MILLENNIAL PLAYGROUND best understood when explored like someone from here. How do we do that? Here are the locals' favorite pastimes: picking up cannabis from the neighborhood dispensary, grabbing drinks at a cozy cafe, eating plant-based food done right, and sipping crafts at an eclectic bar! So for starters, we'll sniff around a CANNABIS DISPENSARY to kick things off on a high note. Second, we'll sip tea inside a LIVING ROOM CAFE that's been converted from a Pixar-esque residence. Third, we'll grab meals from a VEGAN EATERY featuring meat and cheese alternatives that are as tasty as they are innovative. And lastly, we'll drink beers at a SEVEN STORY BAR that used to be a hidden back room of a live theater. To explore the city like a true Portlander, I’ll be your guide to show you where you’d go and how you’d do it. Along the way, I'll enlighten you to the community's culture and provide custom recommendations on how to live like the locals! "I would've never found these places on my own." - Every Person, from Everywhere Don't see a time frame that works? Message me for special arrangements! LET'S GET WEIRD.
