Enjoy the best that Sydney has to offer while staying in this two-storey waterfront space featuring an enormous outdoor terrace.

Formerly a two-bedroom property, this listing is significantly larger than most in its range. Each of the two floors showcase full-height windows, ushering direct sunlight and water views.

This space features furnishings by some of the world's foremost designers and a stunning collection of art books. Just by the Royal Botanical Gardens, it's yours to call home.

This unique property is perfect for those seeking a fabulous home base in one of the very best parts of Sydney.

Direct water views feature through expansive windows on both floors, each opening onto a balcony overlooking Sydney Harbour. In the summertime the views are filtered by a beautiful leafy tree, which also keeps the property cool. There are three outdoor spaces in total: two balconies and a very large private rooftop terrace.

Having been converted from previously containing two bedrooms, the apartment is considerably larger than most available on Airbnb in the area - over 96sqm (1,033sq.ft.) in total.

The motif is contemporary yet eclectic, featuring furnishings by Minotti, Tom Dixon, Adelta and Poliform. There is Flos and Artemide lighting throughout.

An enormous upstairs bedroom showcases a contemporary four-post, king sized bed with premium linens, a large floor mirror and a vintage Wurlitzer piano. The living area downstairs contains a very large and very comfy custom-made sofa, a rare early coffee table by Tom Dixon, a dining setting by Rodolfo Dordoni, a large Kashmiri silk rug of considerable value (atop a black concrete floor) and a vast collection of art and photography books. The two floors are joined by a raw wood staircase, and there are clean, plain white bathrooms on each.

The bespoke kitchen features Italian ceramic benchtops and mirrored splashbacks. It contains appliances by Barrazza and Ilve: there is an integrated fridge with mirrored doors, an induction stove, touch-screen oven and dishwasher.

The expansive (36sqm) outdoor private terrace frames leafy views and features furniture by Frank Gehry and Mario Bellini. It is the perfect spot to spend a sunny afternoon.

The Neighbourhood:

Woolloomooloo's fabulous Finger Wharf is next to this property and features some of Sydney's best dining. The famously chic neighbourhood of Potts Point, also known for its world-class dining and entertainment scene, is 400m away. Additionally, there are several beautiful historic pubs in the vicinity.

Sydney's CBD is a brief but stunning ten minute stroll, as is the Opera House and Circular Quay. The route to each is through some of Australia's most beautiful spaces, including the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Royal Botanical Gardens and The Domain. Each of these are adjacent to the apartment. Alternatively, there is perhaps an even more gorgeous walk along the water's edge to the Opera House - the Andrew Boy Charlton Pool (Australia's most glamorous outdoor pool) is along the way. Mrs Macquarie's Chair is on the same route, about five minute's stroll away. This is where one gets the absolute best, point-blank views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House in all of Sydney - the space is perfect for those wishing to view the fireworks on New Years Eve and other occasions.

The fashionable locales of Elizabeth Bay, Darlinghurst, Paddington and Surry Hills are less than ten minutes via taxi or Uber, as is Darling Harbour. Bondi Beach is a fifteen to twenty minute drive in normal traffic. Manly Beach, Watson's Bay and Taronga Zoo are accessible via a spectacular half-hour ferry trip across Sydney Harbour from nearby Circular Quay.

Summary:

In short, this is a large, interesting Sydney property in a justly famous locale with direct water views and three beautiful outdoor spaces. The items inside the apartment have been carefully curated, usually at significant expense, and are unlikely to be found elsewhere. These features come together to create a wonderful, unique place to call home during your stay in Sydney.

If you have any questions about this beautiful space, please feel free to contact me. This is my private home, equipped to my own extremely high standards. I share the space with travellers when I am not in the area - it will be my pleasure to share it with you.

Hi! I’m a lawyer residing mainly in Sydney. I previously ran a successful art and fashion magazine, and I have a Masters in design, which I completed in Florence, Italy. I’ve worked with some of the world’s leading designers and architects - some of that former life has rubbed off onto my listings. In my downtime I write and perform music. Please free to contact me if there’s anything I can do to assist :)
