This bright one bedroom cabin holds a rustic charm set in a forested area, located just out of the town of Golden, BC. As the smallest of all the Wild Wood Cabins, the layout of Deer Crossing is cozy and compact, perfect for two guests. There is an open concept bedroom upstairs with a queen sized bed and washroom. Downstairs has the kitchen and living area sharing one open space. A pull-out-couch is included for an extra guest. Two covered decks also allow for more enjoyable times outdoors.

The cabin area includes a fire-pit out on the yard and two covered decks with patio furniture. Firewood and an axe are provided nearby in a woodshed for guests to use.
An inviting four person hot tub sits off of the back deck. Deer Crossing is one of eight nightly rentals on our property, the closest cabins located about 50 feet away, still in a forested setting.

Our property is large and we as your hosts also live nearby, yet out of sight. Guests are welcome to come say hi or enjoy their own private space. We are available for questions, supplies or emergencies.

For adventure seekers the local ski hill, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, is only a 20min drive away. In summer they operate a mountain bike park, hiking and a grizzly bear refuge. Two local white water rafting companies are a 5 minute drive down our road. The info center is also close by for adventure planning as Golden is in the midst of beautiful National Parks.

We love the forested, mountainview setting. Our 80 acres are backed up against the mountainside, making exploring and trail-making endless. We are in the wilderness and it is not uncommon for wildlife to access our space as well. We ask that guests be smart about leaving food on bbq’s or garbage left outside as this might attract the wrong type of wildlife. But even though we are in the wilderness we are still very close to town. In under 10 minutes we can be downtown Golden. We are happy to share this wild and beautiful place with others. We do ask that this cabin stay pet free, thanks for understanding.

We have lived in Golden with our family for over 14 years. As white water raft guides and skiing enthusiasts we found Golden had everything we loved just a stones throw away. We love the mountains, rivers and valley and hope to share our beautiful part of the world with others.

Some of our favourite things to do are: biking the free beautiful cross-country trails all over the valley, skiing (winter) at Kicking Horse Mountain resort with our kids (only a 20min drive from our house to the ski hill), hiking in many beautiful places in and around Golden, white water rafting on the Kicking Horse River, snowmobiling day trips into some amazing mountain terrain (winter), and also boating and free-camping along Kinbasket lake just north of Golden.

Our favourite restaurants are:
The Wolf's Den in town, great burgers,
Truffle Pigs in Field (35 min East of Golden) unique gourmet food with great tastes!
