The Captain's Quarters is a spacious first floor apartment with all the comforts of home. Its just a short walk to shops, restaurants, and the town dock. Local artwork and photographs decorate the walls and wood floors run throughout. The kitchen is well stocked with all of the cooking implements you need whether you're baking blueberry muffins or dinner for two. There are bookshelves filled with a wide selection of reading materials and a flat screen TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime.

“Mackerel scales and mare’s tails ships fly high sails” is an old fisherman’s saying that refers to the weather and fishing conditions. Generations of fishermen have called Boothbay Harbor home and that heritage is what makes this town unique. When you book a vacation rental with Mackerel Sky, not only are you getting a great place to stay but you are getting the insight of a local fishing family and the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping to continue a way of life that is becoming more and more difficult to sustain. Lobsters fresh from the boat are available to you at dock prices.

Decorated in the relaxing and tranquil colors of the sea, this one bedroom rental has everything you need for a weekend getaway or an extended stay. The bedroom has a firm queen sized bed with four king sized pillows, 100% cotton sheets, a cotton blanket, and a cotton spread. A handmade quilt decorates the wall as well as local photographs. A brand new Maine made dresser in sea blue is provided to store your clothes and tables in teal green are on either side of the bed. A brushed chrome ceiling fan with clear glass globes helps to circulate cool air in the summer and heat in the winter. Bedside lamps are provided for evening reading.

Just off the bedroom is a full sized bathroom. The vanity has a large mirror with sconces on either side for shaving and applying makeup. The shower has a glass door and fiberglass shower unit. A small separate section of the bathroom has a flush and small window.

The brand new kitchen has all new appliances including a dishwasher, refrigerator, range, microwave, and double bay sink. There is a baking area stocked with bowls and baking dishes. The refrigerator includes an ice maker. A kitchen table seats four. Appliances include a hand mixer, toaster, and coffee maker.

The utility room has an additional table that can be used as a desk or project area. It also includes a washer and dryer. There is room here to store luggage and additional items.

The living area includes a queen sized futon, central AC, and a 46" smart TV. There are two bookshelves with games and books. Just off the living room is an enclosed porch/mud room which provides a great place to sit and look at the gardens or watch the nesting chickadees. If you prefer, there is a small grassy area with seating for two adjacent to the gardens.

Parking for one car is included. Maximum capacity is two people.
