The Little Village is our old name. Now we are Music Garden Homestay from April 14th, 2022. After 2 years of Covid, we made our home full of melody, music and plants, flowers.
There is life beyond skyscrapers and traffic jams, without TV and tablets, with buffalo bells and birdsong instead of car horns, and quiet bamboo forests instead of noisy streets.
We love to take photos, work in the garden, cook, make things, play with our dogs, and enjoy every moments in our life.

Tila
This is a traditional Giay tribe house surrounded by rice terraces and bamboo forests of Ta Van village, far away about 9km from Sapa town. Our home is a cozy wooden house. You will be warmly greeted by Tung, Quyen and our lovely 2 dogs and 4 cats, which will make your stay here very homely.

Our house is up on the hill but it is also close to the main road and local market, from here you can find some convenient stores, restaurants, bars, coffee shops nearby easily. There is a local spa down the hill where you can take a hot herbal Red Dao tribe bath and enjoy stone massages of local ladies.

There are 3 private rooms in our home with thick and comfortable mattresses, windows for sunshine, a balcony, a fire place where we sit around at night, share each other's stories, play games, have a cup of tea or a glass of local wine, a big deck for doing yoga and enjoying sunrise and sunset, a sharing kitchen for everybody cook together, make coffee, tea, some desks and chairs, sofas for working from home, bathrooms and toilets with high water pressure (water is low pressure before but we fix it).

We grow our own food as we believe the earth provides all we need. We also serve special vegetarian food for people who don’t eat meat. Please make yourself at home with beer, soft drink, chocolate, tea and coffee available.

We love gardening. There is a big yard spending for succulents and herbs and rich variety of flowers and plants. You can smell rosemary, mint, chocomint, rose, lemon, lily...

We love music. There is a guitar and a piano and the best sound system in town for listening to music. You like rock, jazz, blue, pop, instruments? We have everything you need.

There is a truly Sapa that it will be our pleasure to show you and make your time here memorable and wonderful.

1. TREKKING TOUR
From our homestay, there are many ways to trek through bamboo forests and local villages with local guides who speak local languages, they are even not good at Vietnamese but really good at English. They are friendly to show you around, share everything about culture, cuisine... Trekking with them, you can see the local children playing with sands, buffalos playing with mud, minority people dyeing indigo fabric...
2. MOTORBIKE TOUR
One-day motorbike tour is the best way to explore a truly Sapa. Ride yourselves or get on our motorbikes and you will see the sunset on top of the mountains, marvelous scenics and tribes working in terraces. We spent many years exploring a truly Sapa by motorbike and we are willing to show you how wonderful it is.
3. BATIK AND INDIGO DYEING WORKSHOP
If you don't know what you should do in rainy days (or even in sunny days), joining in handicraft workshop is the best activity. A Hmong lady will show you how local people make natural fabric and dye them from growing plants till harvesting, weaving and dyeing. They teach you how to draw by beeswax with traditional patterns.
4. BEING LAZY
Our home is your home, just being yourself. You can sit, lie down, do yoga, meditate, play with our dogs and cats, chat with us whole day, learn cooking Vietnamese foods, listen to music, grow succulents with Tung, play guitar and sing with Quyen. Your day, your happiness!

We always stay home, of course we have no reception service, but we are always ready in case you need anything, and we will be glad to support you with any requirements while you’re in Sapa. Your comfort is always our happiness.

We are situated in Ta Van village, which is not too busy, but not situated too far from the local markets and restaurants. We are surrounded by local traditional houses and forest, mixed in with the more modern architecture here and there. Form our home, it’s easy to start a beautiful trek up the mountain or have a stroll alongside the river.

We have much to offer here, as well as our sincere love and warm hugs.

My name is Tung and I am a film photographer who lives to grasp and preserve memorable and beautiful emotions in amazing photographs; I also develop B&W film at the homestay on my spare time. I spent seven years travelling throughout Vietnam, looking for the best landscapes and stunning views and connecting with interesting people. Having grown tired of big cities and office work, I instantly fell in love with a lovely region named Sa Pa, and latter opened a lovely homestay with a dreamy view on Muong Hoa valley. With my old Rolleiflex camera and broken motorbike (although we have a new one for rent :), I can take you everywhere and show you the hills overlooking the rice terraces and bamboo forests.

We are also gardening lovers and have a beautiful garden full of roses, succulents vegetables, herbs, varieties of flowers, and fruits. Everyday we grow some new plants and take care of those already growing. It takes so much time to care for and admire garden, and we’re very proud of it. You can just step into our garden and pick some fresh vegetables you like to make healthy food by yourself, and if you don’t know how to cook, we can cook beautiful local and traditional meals for you!

We love handmade things and designing. Every corner in our house is designed by ourselves. We make wooden tables, chairs, vases original from Pomu, one of the rarest kind of wood in Vietnam.

We have 2 dogs named Fly, and Du Du (means “papaya”). They are the best, warmest, and cutest dogs. Fly is a happy three-legged princess and adoptive mother to Du Du, she is a fast runner who reminds us to live a positive life. Fly doesn’t like looking after the house, she prefers to hang out with guests all day, but we keep her at home because we’re afraid she’ll get lost. Du Du might be the loveliest of all; he loves to sleep on your lap, adores attention and lying around the garden when things are quiet.

Our dogs play with and help us to care for guests when we are busy. They rejoice in every single second and they are always hungry so you can feed them everything we eat.

You can visit us as a guest, but we hope that you leave as a friend, a family member and a companion. You are more than welcome to stay here as part of our family for as long as you want. We absolutely, completely, and sincerely look forward to meeting you :)
