The Hyggelig Hytte is a one of a kind Nordic inspired cabin and sauna located in the heart of the Green Mountains. 30 mins north of Montpelier deep in the woods. Glamping and leaf peeping fun! Rustic romanic, hobo hideaway, bohemian hermitage, nordic nook.
Inspired by my trip to the Faroe Islands in 2013 and my love of the Viking Age, this is your perfect one of a kind rustic glamping experience. This small 144 sq foot Nordic inspired cabin is located ~50 yards behind my house on 11 acres of mixed hardwood and evergreens. You will have your own driveway, garden, fridge and cookstove. I provide coffee and tea as well as light breakfast foods: yogurt, granola, oatmeal and fresh eggs when I have them. There are dishes, pots and pans in the cabin. There is a small electric heater for the winter months which gets it plenty cozy. Your driveway is unmarked and steep, it is located on the same side of the street as my home (1743) to the north (please follow the signs and do not use my neighbors driveways). If you cannot make it up, just park in mine and walk back. You will need snow tires in the winter! Sleeps 2 adults on a queen size futon and there is a loft for a toddler or young child. Here you can enjoy hiking around the woods, picking blackberries and relaxing in Vermont's pristine beauty. Situated 30 min north of Montpelier. Peaceful, rustic simplicity. Enjoy a fire in your own fire pit and take in the stars! No light pollution. Wild turkeys, bats, hawks, deer, and even black bears are seen in these woods. Great for couples, writers or backpackers. *****Wifi is dubious and cell service is a hit or miss. If you have Verizon, you will have much better luck than At&T or Tmobile.**** No indoor plumbing, but a 5 gallon water jug for washing hands/dishes/face etc. There is an outhouse behind the cabin. Showers, laundry and can happen in the main house. Fire pit and barbecue available for use. I provide wood, but you should bring your own kindling. Gorgeous woods to hike or snowshoe through. I have one pair for you to borrow. I enjoy meeting new people, but do not need to socialize with you. I understand that people come to get away and I want to honor your privacy. I will let you know my availability if you need help or recommendations for places to visit etc. Depending on the season, you may see me in the backyard. East Calais is a small town with one gas station/general store a 7 min drive from the cabin, but otherwise, you are out in the woods on dirt roads. We are a 30 min drive from Montpelier, and a 1 hour drive from Stowe and Jay Peak, Sugarbush ski resorts. The village of Plainfield is a 15 minute drive away and has restaurants, bars and some shops etc. There is no public transport in this part of Vermont. You will need snow tires in the winter and AWD preferably as the cabin is located on dirt roads (thought they are well maintained), but in the summer and fall this is not necessary.
East Calais has one general store a 7 minute drive from the cabin. Otherwise, the village of Plainfield is a 20 minute drive away and has restaurants, bars and some shops etc. Montpelier is a 30 minute drive south and Hardwick is a 20 minute drive north. All these towns have night life.

Everybody loves the idea of a tree house. There is something freeing, natural and connective to our childhood in the idea. Feel the gentle movement of the structure as it sighs with the wind. Life off of the ground.... even if only for a weekend.
The Hermit Thrush Treehouse The Hermit Thrush is only available between June 15th and Sept. 15th due to no heat source or insulation. In this current time of concern over the Covid-19 coronavirus, I would like to assure all my up coming and future guests that every effort is taken to thoroughly clean and disinfect the entire treehouse and cooking/eating pavilion between guests. Also that the treehouse is private and located away from other people in a township with a small population. Everybody loves the idea of a tree house. There is something freeing, natural and connective to our childhood in the idea. Feel the gentle movement of the structure as it sighs with the wind. Imagine a life off of the ground..... even if only for a weekend. And enjoy the rich sounds of the woods as it becomes your living room. This creation is organic in its feel and design, with living trees intermingling with the structure inside and out. Made from all local materials or reclaimed elements, it seems out of time as though you took a turn and found yourself in the pages of a story book. Don't be surprised if Gnomes or Elves drop by for tea. The Hermit Thrush practically disappears in the woods like the particularly enchanting song of the namesake bird. There is a double (full size) bed on the first level and three single beds on the second level. Perch on the first or second floor porch and listen to the living woods. There is even a composting toilet right in the tree house for your convenience. Bring some warm clothes since even in summer the nights can get chilly. The covered pavilion, a few meters away, has water, a sink, gas stove, refrigerator, complete set of cooking/eating utensils, and there is a large table to eat or converse over. There is a natural fire pit to enjoy as you watch the sun set in the West. An outside shower completes the picture. Keep in mind that the Hermit Thrush Treehouse is an artistic and rustic structure, designed to give a feeling of freedom and organic interaction with it's surroundings. Due to these ideals, some safety considerations are not present or reduced. For example, railing heights and spacings are irregular, stair treads and rises are irregular, ladders to bunk beds are free form, terrain is uneven and steep, hammocks are over uneven and hard surfaces, as well as other considerations not mentioned here. The treehouse is not recommended for very young children requiring supervision. All guests will be required to sign a waiver of liability upon arrival in order to stay. The woods in which the treehouse resides is a somewhat fragile environment with beautiful mosses, trillium and jack in the pulpit flowers. As much as I love animals, I do not allow dogs at the treehouse due to the fragile environment and amount of chipmunks and squirrels that dogs would feel compelled to tear around and chase. Sorry.

Privately located walk-in camping sites are part of this beautiful working organic farm on a west-facing Vermont hillside. Guests will be dazzled by star-studded skies, treated to spectacular sunsets, and entertained by the two young farm cats. The farm is mosquito free but has millions of fireflies in summer. Have fun exploring. It's nature's playground at her best!!!
Mountain View Cabin has the best view of the valley. It is close to the parking area and wash houses. It was originally designed for family use and will sleep up to five in four bunks. There is simply one room and a high porch. Couples may want to check out our Apple Hill cabin or Water Music Cabin (small cabin). There is no electricity, heat or running water in the cabin. IMPORTANT-- we provide wooden bunks with some form of mattress. Please bring your own bed & bath linens, pillows, towels and lights. We provide an outdoor picnic table and a fireplace. Firewood is available on the farm - $7 an armload. Please DO NOT bring any with you. Camping gear is NOT provided-- please bring your own! Our water is safe and very delicious. You are welcome to fill your jugs before you go.
The area around the farm is typical of the rural back dirt roads of Vermont. Neighbors are nearby but we hardly see their buildings. Four Springs Farm is not far off the interstate and 5 miles from two local villages. It's around a half hour drive from White River Junction and Montpelier along Interstate 89. Good swimming holes are found in the White River down in the valley or at one of two lakes just 20 minutes away.

This small cabin is built upon the spring that provides the main home with water. It is light and airy inside. The cabin has no electricity or bathroom. So it is seasonal , although I can provide a space heater. The bathroom is in the main house.
Located in the original Spring House the property once boasted a sulpher spring that attracted visitors from throughout New England. The spring was destroyed in a flood but the memories live on
First is the covered bridge leading to the road to the property.

1797 Vt Farm House sits quiet and serene at the end of a peaceful country road. With no street lights or sounds to mar the night, experience a rare gift of silence. See the Milky Way like never before. Ample room allows six guests to share. Since the listing is essentially the entire first floor of the Farm House and your nearest neighbor .4 miles away you will have the whole place to yourself as a private, peaceful retreat. Yet Burlington, Lake Champlain, and Smuggler's Notch are only 25 mins
Sunny first floor of a true Federal Style Vermont Farm House dating from 1797! includes: seven rooms (1542 sf): south and west facing bedroom, adjoining large bathroom, updated kitchen, south facing dining room, and separate living room. Listen to the soothing sound of Roger's Brook out your bedroom window. Walk, ski, run, or mountain bike on our private trails that traverse open pasture and forest. After your run soak in the large clawfoot tub in the second bathroom . Venture further on miles of trails that lead to the huge V.A.S.T system designed for snowmobilers but allow in our case access to skiers, walkers, mountain bikers, geocachers, trail runners, and horseback riders. For you long distance runners looking to get in your miles. The Town of Westford is blessed with 39.6 miles of dirt roads perfect for your knees and your training runs. Finally since the Farm House sits at the "end of the road" in a beautifully secluded location next to hundreds of acres of undeveloped forest you should be able to see the stars like never before! And yet for all this quiet and solitude you are only 7.8 miles from the grocery, pharmacy, cinema, shops, even a 7 million dollar spa and indoor pool at The Essex for your day use if you feel so inclined, Downhill skiing is not far: 25 minutes to Smuggler's Notch puts you on the lift there, Stowe Mountain Resort, Trapp Family Lodge, Bolton Valley, and Jay Peak are all easy day trips. In the other direction discover amazing Lake Champlain, the sixth Great Lake in the U.S. with a myriad of recreational opportunities. As a rock and ice climber I can point you in the right direction for those local activities as well. For those who are looking for night life, Burlington is a hip college town with lots of offerings. With one queen sized bed in the Master Bedroom, one queen sized futon in a curtained sleeping alcove, and one queen sized leather sleep sofa in its own room the Farm House can accomodate 3 couples quite comfortably.
Westford is one of the 251 small towns of Vermont. We are blessed with 39.6 miles of dirt roads and not a single traffic light. We have a town green with its Civil War memorial statue, library, white clapboard, steepled Congregational Church, town office, and on the green itself an ice hockey rink in the winter, ( watch the annual broomball tournament Jan 13-14, 2018 )concert venue and Monday's (3:30-6:30) farmers market in summer months. Not far from the green we have our own historic wooden covered bridge. Nearby check out the quintessential Vermont town of Jericho Center, Vermont 05465 with its country store opened in 1807.

Circa 1900 charm and back to the basics living, this cabin is a perfect little getaway spot to spend time in nature surrounded by forest, brook, wildlife, hiking trails. Simple cozy little cabin is completely off-grid. No electricity or plumbing, yet lanterns, candles, fresh water jugs provided. Unwind from the outside world and reconnect with your self or your loved ones and the natural world around you. Offering a loft with real beds, well stocked kitchen, propane stove, outhouse. Glamping!
This is tiny living! It is well stocked to meet your needs so you aren't expected to bring much. Although there is no plumbing, spring water is provided in large jugs for your washing and bathing needs, as well as large basins, buckets, and a "dry" sink. Dish-soap, hand soap, sanitizers, shampoo, all proceeds. Kitchen has a propane gas stovetop and oven. There is a charcoal grill outside. All the pots and pans and kitchen necessities as well, for all your cooking and eating needs, including a tea kettle and pour-over coffee maker. Outhouse is the only facility. Solar bag camp shower available for outdoor showers in warmer months. Private mountain stream nearby, and access to the White River is a 2 mile drove. Water basins can be heated on the wood stove for sponge baths and hair washing in colder months. And swimming holes are everywhere. Access to the loft is by a ladder. Families welcome, but not really recommended for small children that cannot climb ladder on their own, unless they are small enough for you to safely carry. The bed is a queen mattress on the floor with clean sheets and pillows, and a wide selection of blankets depending on your comfort needs. There is a twin-sized bed that also makes a cozy reading nook, or bed for child or 3rd guest. The eclectic selection of books on the shelves are both educational and informative, and some will also take you back to pioneering days and ways, and the natural world. I use all natural CDC-approved cleaning products, and keep the cabin as organic as possible, with very little plastics or chemicals except where necessary for health and safety. We live on the premesis up the road. We have a small poultry farm. You will most likely hear our hens in the distance during the day, and the sounds of the brook and owls at night.
We have one neighbor, a young family, the other is over a mile away. You are really surrounded by nature and wildlife and the forest. This forest is inhabited by everything from bear to bobcat, porcupine, fisher, fox, coyote, deer, owls and hawks, woodpeckers and migrating birds of the seasons, flying squirrels, chipmunks, mice, seasonal amphibians, brook trout, raccoons, crickets and cicadas, to name a few. No matter what season you visit, the sounds of the forest and the night will vary.

Two Creek Hill is nestled in 3 private wooded acres, yet is only an easy 6 minute drive from Stowe Village. Wake to views of water, trees and mountains, spend the day skiing, hiking, biking or enjoying Stowe's many award winning restaurants and breweries, and finish in the hot tub or with a book by the fire.
A classic three-level chalet, Two Creek Hill was renovated at the end of 2014, and is furnished in a clean and comfortable modern rustic style. Every floor has at least one bedroom and full bathroom. All of the bedrooms have ample closet space and views of the surrounding woods. The Pinnacle Room, on the top floor, has a queen bed and en suite bathroom. A reading loft with a two story view of the mountain and surrounding woods has a sectional sofa that is widely considered to be the best spot in the house for doing a puzzle or reading a book. The main floor includes the kitchen, living and dining rooms, wood stove, wall-mounted flatscreen TV and two bedrooms – The Pond and Creek Rooms. The Pond Room is very cosy and has a queen bed, while the Creek Room has a twin size bunk bed suitable for both kids and adults. The open plan of the living and dining rooms, loft and kitchen allows for easy conversation and mingling as you and your guests cook, eat, laugh and relax. The main level’s two story floor-to-ceiling windows bring in abundant light and allow a close up view of the surrounding woods from nearly every spot on the main floor. With a bench seat running its entire length, 8 lounge chairs and patio table, the wraparound deck is a key feature of the house and is designed for outdoor enjoyment. Pass lazy days with your feet propped up or gather friends and family for sundowners and dinner. The large area is perfect for entertaining groups, or enjoying intimate moments looking out over the pond. During the warmer months, many a guest has spent the whole day in what we consider to be the "summer living room". The ground floor is centered on a large family room that features another flatscreen TV, Blu-ray/DVD player, wood stove and provides easy access to the outdoor hot tub. The Birch Room is just off of this main room and contains a queen bed and a large double closet. The mudroom with a separate entrance and heated floors, ample hooks, benches and storage as well as the washer and dryer is also on this level. This well-designed layout allows for maximum flexibility. Guests can share each other's company in the common areas, but also enjoy privacy and personal time in the different bedrooms and floors.
We love the fact that we are on three secluded acres acres - yet only 5 minutes drive from the center of Stowe Village. It feels like a personal hideaway on a private mountain top, but if we forget to buy milk (or ice cream), we can get to the grocery store in 10 minutes. Stowe Hollow is a great neighborhood and the Pinnacle trail which is very close to the house is an extremely popular hike. You will see many hikers passing by as well as neighbors who often greet each other on the road, chat, and get to know one another. Two Creek Hill is only a 5 minute walk to the Pinnacle Peak trailhead; 2 miles (6 minute drive) from Stowe Village's Main Street; 8 miles from the Von Trapp Family Lodge; 12 miles from Mt. Mansfield and Smuggler's Notch ski areas; 10 miles from the Ben and Jerry's Factory's heart-clogging goodness; 11 miles from Waterbury; and 36 miles from Burlington International Airport. Adjacent to the C.C. Putnam State Forest, Two Creek Hill provides easy access to over 13,000 acres of natural beauty. In addition, the Stowe Land Trust preserves 1,000s of acres and 100s of trail miles for public use year- round. Waterbury Reservoir, 10 minutes down the road, offers kayaking, canoeing, fishing and hiking. The Long Trail, Catamount Trail and VAST Trails all pass nearby.

Located in the heart of Grand Isle, this 1835 Lakehouse catches stunning Easterly Sun and Mountain views. Previously a Cafe, this farmhouse has been recently recently renovated from head to toe, including a very large kitchen. 10min walk to the lake!
This old 3200 sq/ft farmhouse is a great space for entertaining guests. It features a large kitchen, as well as an Amish built farm table, which can extend to seat 14 people. Open the french doors and you can find more seating either on the deck or at the firepit. The house is set up similar to a duplex. The main section of the house is what we most frequently rent. It features all the large common spaces - a big kitchen, dining room, living room, full bath, and outside deck (with views!), and on the second floor provides guests with 3 upstairs bedrooms, and another full bath. For further sleeping options there is a pull-out couch (memory foam mattress, sleeps 2) in the downstairs office. Then, in the mother-in-law suite on the East side of the house (less frequently rented out, except for very small groups), there is a large master bedroom, which gets sun and moon rises over the lake and mountains, and a wet bar/kitchen, small family room, and a 3/4 bath with his and hers vanities. Because the house is designed like a duplex, we have chosen to rent out the house in a couple ways. For groups of 1-8 you would have access to the main portion of the house, including 3 upstairs bedrooms and the pull out couch in the office. For groups larger than 8, just let us know as we might be happy to go camping ;)
Grand Isle is a town located in the Champlain Islands. At it's heart you will find yourself surrounded by farmland, with artisans and farm stands around every bend. Our house backs right up to a dairy farm, which you look across to see the lake and mountain views. In the foreground you will sometimes see the Holstein cows, who can prove to be entertaining and sometimes very smelly neighbors. From barn dances, to concerts, or an afternoon swim at the beach (a 10 min walk), there are always things to do in the Champlain Islands. The farm stand scavenger hunt is one of our favorites. Fashioned after AMC huts of the NH White mountains, this Pet Friendly off-grid cabin is 20x16 with deck, awesome views, and easy access to Long Trail ( 7 miles from Killington). Ideal spot for those looking for an outdoor adventure and needing a place to stay. Includes wood stove and solar electric system that powers several outlets (perfect for charging laptops & phones), LCD lights & a small refrigerator. Includes a comfortable futon bed & 2 cots in loft.
Modeled after our experiences hiking the White Mountains of New Hampshire, Nordregaard (the name of our cabin) was fashioned after the AMC huts (Lonesome Lake, Carter Notch, etc.). We seek to maintain the strong connection with the outdoors (that’s why you’re here… right?) but with a little dash of Danish hygger (Danish word for cozy) by providing for some basics such as an outhouse, basic water systems, outdoor shower, drinking water and protection from the elements. Think of Nordregaard as your own private, self-service, ‘hut’ during your stay. Off the beaten path, off grid cabin. 20 x 16 with deck, awesome views, 7 miles from Killington and easy access to Long Trail. Ideal spot for those looking for an outdoor adventure and needing a place to stay. Private 30 acre front/back yard. There are currently no beds, just three cots and a loft that we typically sleep in.
Walking distance to the trail head of the Long Trail / AT. Great hiking as well as winter backcountry skiing mecca. tremendous uncharted mountain biking everywhere along with two great biking centers, Green Mountain Trails (Pittsfield VT) and Killington . Within 20 minutes drive to both Pico & Killington Ski area's. Rutland is also 20 minutes in the other direction for any supplies you might need.

We are Wayward Goose Farm (visit on instagram) and we have a spacious & comfy studio apartment overlooking the activity on our working Vermont dairy farm waiting just for you. Visit the barn during milking, relax with an album on the record player, or take a walk on the rail trail right out back! Now teaming with Red Clover Ale Co. (check them out on insta too!) in Brandon, VT, we'll provide a voucher with each booking good for a complimentary pour in their new brewery/tap room!
Come spend time in southwestern Vermont! We live on a beautiful dairy farm and we love to welcome guests to our home. We have a newly carpeted, finished studio apartment above our attached 3 car garage waiting just for you! It is furnished with a comfy new queen sized bed and 2 new twin sized beds. A recently installed kitchenette, with a two burner cook top and small fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee amenities, and staples (spices, oils, condiments, and an assortment of basic nonperishables) enables you to prepare simple meals. Choose to dine inside at the vintage table or make it al fresco and take your meal out to the patio when the weather permits. We are happy to stock your fridge with a complimentary jar of our own fresh, raw milk, upon request. We also stock local fresh pastured eggs in our self serve store which you are welcome to purchase. A full bath with stall shower is spacious, well appointed, and clean. Wireless internet is available but we suggest you relax with some good old board games. We've recently added a full sized ping pong table in the heated garage, just outside the apartment door..... lots of fun on rainy days or when it's too cold to brave the winter outdoors. Little ones will have fun swinging and sliding on the newly built wooden play set in the yard, in full view from the east apartment windows. We are kid friendly! Guests have a private entrance but are welcome to enjoy our lovely backyard patio and porch. If you have ever wanted to experience life on a dairy farm, this is the place for you! Guests can watch the milking chores in the morning or sleep in and just enjoy the peace and quiet. Either way, you are sure to be charmed by your surroundings. We milk 25 registered Jersey cows twice a day, every day, and sell their rich creamy milk raw here on the farm. We have a little, self-serve farm store on sight from which you can also view our morning or evening milkings. Our fresh, raw milk, grass fed beef and free range chicken, local maple syrup, and local pastured eggs are available year round. If you are a fan of micro brews you'll know that Vermont is home to the most craft breweries per capita of any state in the U.S. We are proud to team with one of VT's newest, and, in our opinion, best brew pubs, Red Clover Ale co. in Brandon and we're happy to provide a voucher for 1 complimentary pour per booking. A scenic hour's drive north, Red Clover Ale co.'s tap room is situated right over the Neshobe River in downtown Brandon and the beers are fast becoming known among craft beer connoisseurs as some of Vermont's finest. How do we know? Because their brewer Pete is our son and one of the 3 owners is our son in law Andy! Stop in with your voucher and prepare yourself for a tasting experience you won't forget! In January they were chosen one of the top 10 new breweries of 2019 in the country by @hopculturemag! Our farm's surrounding area holds plenty of opportunity for adventure. The D&H Rail Trail runs literally through our backyard and is a perfect venue for birders and hikers alike. It is 22.3 miles long and is very popular among bicyclists, cross country skiers, horseback riders, walkers and joggers. Bring your binoculars, because we've spotted everything from bald eagles to scarlet tanagers on the trail, not to mention snapping turtles! Nature lovers can also partake of nearby Merck Forest, Haystack Mountain, and the Hebron Nature Preserve. Plan a winter vacation and, if there's snow, we have an assortment of sleds and tubes you are welcome to use on the hill behind the house. Or bring your cross country skis and take them out on the rail trail out back, which is groomed by a local snowmobile club! We'll start a fire in the fire pit for you and we even stock the apartment with gourmet hot chocolate mix which you can use to make the world's best cocoa, providing you use our milk of course! In addition, we are a mere 39 minutes from Bromley mountain ski resort if you decide to have an off farm winter adventure! Message ahead of your visit and we'll try to give you up to date sledding and rail trail skiing conditions. Manchester, a mere 25 minutes away, is a very popular destination, home to numerous designer outlets, the Orvis fly fishing school and store, and the best book store in Vermont, the Northshire Bookstore. Weston, sight of the Vermont Country Store, is about an hour's drive away through some gorgeous mountain scenery. Glens Falls, and Lake George, NY are about 45 minutes and an hour away, respectively, to the west, while Saratoga Springs is just under an hour. The delightful Lake St. Catherine state park in Wells is about 15 minutes away and Emerald Lake state park in Dorset is nearby as well. World class fly fishing abounds in the Battenkill River and the Mettowee River. Burlington and all its enchantments is just under 2 hours north and the drive through Addison County, with the Adirondacks to the west across Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains to the east is absolutely breathtaking! There are great farmers markets in nearby towns as well as unique shops, eating establishments and brew pubs throughout this beautiful state. There are too many attractions to do justice to here and we are centrally located to many nearby cities from Albany, to Saratoga, to Rutland and Bennington. Since it's only an hour away, we are frequent visitors to Williamstown, MA and its treasure, The Clark Art Institute and Mass MoCa is just a short hop away in Adams. A state of the art whole-house water filtration system supplies the apartment with our fresh, clean well water so there's no need for purchased water in plastic bottles. This, along with our choice to primarily use environmentally friendly cleaning supplies, line dry our laundry when weather permits, etc. is part of our entire farm's commitment to sustainability. We are happy to answer any questions you may have and look forward to hosting you. We do not discriminate and happily welcome all genders, ethnicities, colors, shapes, sizes, astrological signs, planetary affiliations, musical tastes, etc!
Ours is a quintessential rural Vermont neighborhood... our nearest neighbors are at Consider Bardwell Farm, whose silos are visible from our yard. It's an easy and enjoyable walk down the road, along the rail trail or even through our pasture. Once there you can take a tour or sample some of their award winning cheese. The road on which we are situated is very popular with bicyclists, joggers and walkers alike in good weather and the scenery is delightful all year round!

Cozy Vermont mini-house Convenient to the Clark Art Institute, Mass MoCA, & Bennington, VT Due to Vermont's COVID-19 State of Emergency Declaration we have suspended operations for the month of April, and cannot accept instant bookings. Please contact me to book. Also, out of state visitors are now required to self-quarantine for two weeks.
Owl Hill House is an organically shaped structure built by a group of sculptors in the early 1980’s and recently renovated by one of its original creators. Its 570 square feet interior is bright, airy and cozy with hand-plastered, sculptural, white walls and custom built-in furniture. It is set in a tranquil clearing surrounded by beautiful trees on a private Vermont dirt road, and is the perfect base for exploring northern Berkshire County’s cultural gems and southern Vermont’s picturesque towns and natural beauty, or to just relax and leave the rectilinear world behind. Location The house is in Pownal, VT and is convenient to The Clark and Williams College (10 minutes), Mass MoCA (20 minutes), and Bennington, VT (10 minutes). The Space There is a main space with a seating area, a sleeping nook with a queen-sized bed, and a kitchen. The bathroom has a shower and a custom-made bench. A small utility room has a washer/dryer. There is high-speed Wi-Fi. The exterior landscaping is still in progress. Owl Hill Road The house is 0.1 miles up a dirt road shared with 4 houses. The road is regularly maintained but can have a few rough spots. In the warm months, it’s fine for any vehicle. In the winter and early spring good snow tires are highly recommended, and All Wheel Drive or 4-Wheel Drive are optimal. After a snowstorm, or in icy conditions, you may have to leave your vehicle at the bottom of the hill and walk up – it's a 4-5 minute walk. Winter in Vermont can often be an adventure! ***** Sorry, no pets. No smoking ***** --------------------------------------------- COFFEE: The house has a coffee grinder, and a French Press. We do not supply coffee beans or tea. --------------------------------------------- PANTRY: We stock the house with salt, pepper, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, flour and sugar.

Cozy converted artists’ studio, tucked in the hills at the end of a country road. Open the French door to views of a sprawling garden and rolling fields, alight with fireflies in the spring and bursting with color in the fall. Warm yourself by the wood burning stove after winter fun or unwind with a local microbrew by the fire pit, listening to the Whippoorwills on a summer evening. Beautiful in all seasons, this modern, comfy cottage is the perfect place to get away from it all.
This spacious studio has a new, Tuft & Needle (OEKO-TEX, GreenGuard Gold, and CertiPUR-US certified) queen-sized bed, living area with wood burning stove, kitchen and dining area (table seats four), and separate bathroom with a shower stall. (Complimentary toxin-free soap, shampoo, and conditioner are provided.) The couch pulls out to a full-sized bed. The space is best-suited for two people, but could sleep three comfortably. Please note, we do not provide a television, although streaming services can be accessed via WiFi if you bring your own device. The kitchen is well-stocked with a two-burner cooktop (but no oven), small fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, tea kettle, pots and pans, plates, bowls, glassware, silverware, and cooking utensils. Organic, fair-trade coffee, tea, and half-in half are ready for your use. We use only non-toxic cleaning products. You'll have lots of privacy as the studio is a good distance (~30 yards) from the main house, which is blocked from view by a row of lilac bushes. There are high ceilings and lots of windows with views of the garden and the valley. Walk out your door to the lovely garden and enjoy the hammock in our stand of mature apple trees. Our country road is great for short walks (past stone walls and pastures), and there are beautiful wooded trails for walking or snow-shoeing just a quarter-mile down the road. We recommend four-wheel drive vehicles for anyone visiting in winter: you must take several dirt roads and navigate a driveway that is steep and long to get to the cottage. We take reservations during the dreaded mud season (as the ground thaws and the dirt roads get rutty in late March and April), but suggest four-wheel drive (again) and an adventurous spirit. For more photos, look for us on Instagram @tunbridgecottage.
We are five minutes from the village of Tunbridge, VT, home of the country's oldest World's Fair (!) and a general store that sells delicious maple creamees. South Royalton (and the Vermont Law School) is a 10-minute drive and offers the best swimming holes along the White River, a wonderful co-op for groceries, organic, farm-fresh produce, Vermont cheeses, beer and wine (including local craft brews); yummy pastries and specialty, house-roasted coffee at First Branch Coffee; and the beloved Worthy Burger restaurant and bar. The charming village of Woodstock is 35 minutes away and Quechee, with its gorge, Simon Pearce, and antique mall is 30 minutes. Easy access to I-89 is about 15 minutes away. Other attractions: - Tastings and live music at Brocklebank Craft Brewing (20 minutes) - Strafford Nordic Center (20 minutes) - Woodstock, VT: quaint, walkable village with shops, restaurants, Billings Farm, Mount Tom, Nordic Center, and more (35 minutes) - Simon Pearce Flagship Shop and Restaurant (30 minutes) - Baking classes at King Arthur Flour (40 minutes) - Dartmouth College and Hanover, NH (40 minutes) - Skiing/Snowboarding at Suicide Six (35 minutes), Killington/Pico (1 hour), or Sugarbush (1 hr 15 mins) - Mountain biking trails - Long Trail / Appalachian Trail - Vermont Cheese Trail - Vermont Brewery Tour

Do you enjoy Glamping? We are near Woodstock/Quechee and you’ll love us if you enjoy natural setting, rustic woods surrounded by old stone walls and a heavenly pond. Get out and explore the Upper Valley, returning to the cozy 1955 El Rey trailer or our 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream. We are experienced innkeepers from So Pasadena CA having managed The Bissell House Bed & Breakfast 15 years. Thanks to all who stayed with us last year. We are now closed for the season and will reopen May 14, 2020.
Looking for a warm and cozy space? Our vintage trailers are just the spot! Our 12 acre property is heavily wooded and late spring through fall are great times to enjoy the outdoors. Camping with a trailer is a fun experience. While we do not have a kitchen, our outdoor cook station has some basics for you. These include a 3 burner stove, BBQ grill and smoker, pans, utensils, olive oil and a communal mini fridge. Bring anything else that you want to add for your own comfort, such as cooler. You may want to bring flashlights and rain gear. There are many choices for dining in our area if you prefer to eat out. Our Curtis Wright is 72 years old and the El Rey is 64 years old. Please expect some vintage aspects, such as door handles, screens, windows, awnings etc. that function according to their age and we will be upgrading them periodically. These are not new modern trailers and we think that adds to the appeal! However they are clean and cozy! Your trailer is down by the pond, nearby is the large fire pit, composting outhouse, stove and BBQ grill. Our sweet wildlife pond is pristine, spring fed, and has an abundance of wildlife in and around it. You may even see the barred owls hunting for frogs at night. Both trailers are pondside, the El Rey is across from the Curtis Wright. Swimming is allowed, Please read the house rules regarding rinsing off prior to swimming and refraining from getting suntan oil etc. in the pond. We rent either the 1955 El Rey or our 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream. See our other listing for the second trailer. This listing is for the 1955 El Rey. This is our 1st year to offer the Curtis Wright Airstream, please see our other listing for it. It’s titled “Good Night Moon Vintage” Airstream Glamping. Nights can be chilly so be prepared with warm clothes. Please be aware of weather conditions as rain can impact your camping! That’s part of what makes it so fun to be inside a trailer instead of in a tent on the ground! However mud can be part of your experience outside the trailer. You are welcome to build a fire in the fire pit and toast marshmallows or grill....Kindling is plentiful around the grounds, however please purchase your wood locally for whatever you intend to use, or order from us. We do ask that you start your fire the old fashioned way and do NOT use gas, diesel etc. which will leech into the pond and harm our wildlife. We have charcoal bags and wood on site for sale usually, advance request is much appreciated and pay upon arrival by the bundle. Our wonderful resident bats do a great job at night clearing insects! Sit out by the pond and watch them arrive at dusk! Our Phoebe Flycatchers build their mud nests all over the property and have 2 baby bird hatchings usually by mid-summer. They help keep insects down as well. If it’s a clear night, the stars are usually amazing in the sky over the pond. We live up in the house and are available to you as much as you’d like! We prefer that you do contact us with your needs to ensure a great experience. We have a new composting toilet outhouse. For showers, guests can make the 5.7 mile drive down to Quechee State Park and pay a $4 day fee to use the solar showers which take quarters. We also have a freestanding shower enclosure that you may use with solar water bags that you will fill daily and heat when there is sun. It will take time so plan ahead. If it’s been cool or cloudy, the water will not be warm. This year 2020 we will be building our outdoor shower so stay tuned for photos when that is completed.
We are on a private road on a mountaintop so access is limited to just our guests and our neighbors. Wildlife abounds in the heavily wooded neighborhood. You might see deer, raptors, turkey, bear and occasionally moose as well as all sorts of birds, even Pileated Woodpeckers. Our Phoebe Flycatchers fledge near or in the summer kitchen each year. As a special treat, our Barred Owl fledglings were here every evening in July last year, you can still hear them at night sometimes well into the fall.

Water Music is a cute building next to one of the streams on the property and the peppermint patch. The interior of the cabin is mostly the double bunk (a mattress thrown on a wooden platform), some shelves and hooks. IMPORTANT-- Please bring your own bed & bath linens, pillows, towels and lights. There is no electricity, heat or running water in the cabin. Our wash house with hot showers is up the hill a short walk. We provide an outdoor picnic table and a fireplace. Firewood is available on the farm - $5 a day.

Our place is situated on a plateau above West River with access to an 8-mile bike path, hiking trails, idyllic river swimming and cross country skiing. We're two miles to grocery stores and gas stations and 4 miles to charming downtown Brattleboro. You’ll love our place because of the beautiful land, gardens, pottery studio, and gallery. Our place is good for couples, soloists, families with kids, and furry friends (dogs must be on a leash when on the property).
The space is attached to our 270 year-old farm house but it has its own entrance. It consists of an entrance hallway, a sitting area, bathroom with stand-up shower and kitchenette with a mini-fridge, microwave, and an electric kettle for making coffee, tea and hot chocolate. It has a small staircase leading up to a large sleeping loft with the capacity to sleep up to 5. Fresh linens and towels provided. Air conditioning is available if you like. Children and friendly dogs on leashes are more than welcome!
Our place is at the end of a 1/2-mile long dirt road with 6 houses on it. We are located on a stunning plateau above the West River...a 10-minute walk and you're close to several fabulous swimming holes. You can also hike or bike the 8-mile long trail that runs along the river. A comfortable and sparkling clean 2nd story loft in a secluded setting (important to bring groceries for your first couple of meals), surrounded by 26,000+ acre Groton State Forest, offering privacy, peace, and quiet following your days of foliage viewing, hiking, biking, kayaking, snowshoeing, x-county skiing, exploring (byo bikes/kayaks/skis/snowshoes). Walk out your door onto forest traiIs. Star-gaze at a sky with little to no light pollution!
The rental is a nearly 900 square foot loft above our 3-car garage. The loft is at a distance from our home (150 feet) for privacy on our 11 acre woodlot. Pristine spring water from the taps! Whitewashed pine floors; views into the treetops; wifi; great room (living, dining, and kitchen areas); and large bathroom. A pellet stove and Rinnai heater provide warmth. A flat screen TV is for DVD playing or streaming (no TV/cable/satellite channels; HDMI cable is provided) - feel free to bring DVDs with you, though we have a few on hand. The kitchen includes small gas range, small under counter refrigerator, sink, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, hot pot, pots and pans, cooking utensils, dishware, and flatware. A Weber kettle grill and fire pit are outside (wood and charcoal are provided). We provide oil and vinegar, salt and pepper, teas, coffee, sugar, and Stevia; and are most often able to help with random spices, etc. The rooms have wifi service. Hills surrounding the property prevent cell phone coverage, though it can often be accessed within 3 miles of our driveway. A landline is onsite for emergency and local calls. During seasonable weather, you are welcome to use the 20x20 post and beam screen house (with wifi) - a bit of paradise on the bank of a year round brook. Laze in the chaise and fall asleep to brook and bird songs, read, or have a meal at the picnic table. We provide: towels, bedding (sheets, comforters), shampoo/conditioner, body wash, hair dryer, hand soap, dish soap, paper products, and a few first aid products.
Please note: We are in a remote location, though adjacent to a paved state road. Plan on traveling at least 1/2 hour to towns that offer groceries, shopping, restaurants, theater, nightlife. This is a rural area and our property is surrounded by the Groton State Forest. We have trails marked with ribbons from your door through the woods on our property and directly connecting to a developed trail in the State Forest. There is very easy access to other hiking trails in the Groton State Forest; a miles-long flat recreation trail is just a few hundred feet away; nearby Boulder Beach at Groton Pond offers day use (There is a car-top boat launch and canoes, kayaks and pedal boats are available to rent) beginning Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend; and unparalleled "leaf peeping" from roughly mid-September to mid-October. The route to Lincoln NH (1 hour) includes Route 112 into the White Mountains and offers spectacular foliage viewing. The town of Groton (5-7 minutes away) offers a post office; library with wifi; a gas station/convenience store with a breakfast/lunch counter, pizza to order, and basic groceries; and a meadery (honey wine) that seasonally offers homemade icecream. 30 minutes to Cabot Creamery gift shop; 45 minutes to craft breweries and to Montpelier (the State capitol), which offers a wide range of excellent restaurants; 50 minutes to Ben & Jerry's ice cream factory, and shopping at Stowe, VT; 1-1/4 hours from Burlington; and a short hour from Franconia, NH. We also have an excellent massage therapist contact, if that holds interest for you.

My place is 8 miles to Stowe Mountain Resort, 0.5 miles from downtown Stowe - walking distance to many restaurants. Property backs up to Cady Hill Forest, this is 258 wooded acres for snow shoeing, winter hiking and mountain biking. Green Goddess Café is 0.2 miles away which has great coffee, breakfast/lunch. You’ll love my place because of the great location! There are so many things to do very close by. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and small families (with kids).
The house is located on a dirt road that runs parallel with Rt. 100. This neighborhood is very close to downtown Stowe. There is a shuttle bus that is a couple hundred yards from the house that will take you to Stowe Mountain Resort.

Breathtaking views, mountain fresh air, and tranquility in the highland town of Vershire, VT; the Fortress looks out over the White Mountains to the East during the day and the Milky Way above at night. The property spans 6 acres that are available to all guests looking for a bit of snow-shoeing or a walk in the woods. Designed and built by local architect, Nick Fabrikant, it offers splendid open floor plans and incredible natural lighting through the many South-facing windows.
Accommodations include a full-size bed for two, a small kitchen that's perfect for making morning pancakes with fresh local maple syrup, and several comfy chairs from which to watch the rising and setting of the sun in your personal mountain hideout. While there is an air mattress available for additional guests by special request, we like to recommend the space for two guests at a time because of the open floor plans.

Waterfront setting in a relaxing, but convenient, location in southeastern Vermont. Photos and captions do the best job of describing our cabin, adjacent brook, and very nearby Green River with its covered bridge and swimming holes. The cabin is 20 minutes from Brattleboro with its many restaurants, shops, movie theater, and galleries. Not only is the immediate area wonderful for swimming, biking, and hiking, you can also simply relax with a good book or two.
Our place comes with fire wood, a Weber charcoal grill, and inner tubes for floating in the Green River. Kayaks and canoes can be rented in Brattleboro for use on the Connecticut River.
The immediate neighborhood is quintessential Vermont countryside, with its streams, hills, valleys, and pastures. Nearby Brattleboro provides all necessities plus a wide variety of restaurants, eclectic shops, galleries and the historic Latches Theater. Interstate 91, Rt. 9, Rt. 30, and Rt. 5 provide easy access to many nearby places of interest in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.

    Sarah2018-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Me asuimme kaiken tästä paikasta. Lämmin miellyttävä tunnelma, josta on upeat näkymät kaikista suurista ikkunoista. Kuuron kuunteleminen nukahtamisen aikana tuo sinut oikeaan tunnelmaan. Voit odottaa kaiken olevan mukava ja puhdas ja hyvin avoin ja informatiivinen keskustelu heti Davidiltä. Tulemme varmasti takaisin tänne.

    Jeff2018-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Tärkein nähtävyys on juokseva vesi, joka on suoraan makuuhuoneen ikkunan vieressä. Nukkuu helposti. Tuo polttopuut ja tossut tähän pakoon!

    Aaron2018-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Mieheni ja minä etsimme viikonloppua päästä pois, jossa voisimme tutkia koetta, jota olemme tulleet. Tämä paikka oli hämmästyttävä! Aivan puron vieressä, joka teki vierailustamme erittäin rentouttavan. Varaa se!

    Isabel2018-11-26T00:00:00Z

Enter through a flowering courtyard into this one room studio style guest house with full bath, closet and sliding glass doors looking out upon a lush green landscape in Southern Vermont. Parking, wi-fi and local insight included. Hosts = AMAZING :) 5 miles to Williamstown Theater Festival, Williamstown, MA 9 miles to Mass MoCA, North Adams, MA 9 miles to Bennington, VT
Bauhaus style Tiny House at about 200 square feet.
"Old Route 7" - close to main roads and very accessible but removed enough to feel private, surrounded by greenery (Green Mountain National Forest). Gorgeous views from this country road! About 1/4 mile from Hoppy Valley Organics whose hops are used by local breweries such as Bright Ideas Brewing in North Adams, MA. Also near by is Hill Top Farm where you can find organic beef, milk, grains, maple syrup and Wildstone Farm, a beloved certified organic vegetable farm in Pownal, VT. Wildstone Farm does not have a farm store with regular hours open to the public but they do have a CSA program and their produce and eggs are found at local farmers markets in Williamstown, MA and Bennington, VT.

The Boston Globe referred to Fat Sheep Farm & Cabins as a "magical place," with "five stunning cabins [that] are spotless, spacious, and perfectly placed to provide access to incredible views." Enjoy a unique lodging experience while staying on our working farm. Our guests can enjoy fresh seasonal produce, eggs from our chickens and a visit with the farm animals. The farm feels secluded but is only 10 minutes from I91, about 11 miles from both Woodstock and Quechee, and 6 miles from the GMHA.
Covid 19 First Responders--this cabin is available for you or your families. Please inquire with us directly before booking to discuss a possible arrangement. We want to understand your situation and discuss our respective needs. Also, please disregard the calendar dates for availability as we anticipate moving or cancelling reservations should the need arise. **At this time, Fat Sheep Farm plans to stay OPEN during the COVID-19 Pandemic when allowed by the state of Vermont. Please do not instabook. Please inquire before booking. We provide a private cabin that has been cleaned and disinfected thoroughly before your arrival. We can also provide a self-check in process. We are offering an extremely DISCOUNTED RATE for people interested in staying for 3 nights or longer. Please email or call to inquire about discounted stays.** **If this cabin is booked on the dates you are interested in visiting, we have four other cabins listed on Airbnb** We are a licensed lodging facility in Vermont and you can find us by searching our farm name. Promotions, discounts, or special offers are unavailable through Airbnb. Our lowest rates are only available directly. Please note that the cabin accommodates 4 people but there is a $15 charge for each additional person after 2 people (a person is 3 years old and up). We are a small working farm on 60 acres in Hartland, Vermont. We grow vegetables, have a small herd of dairy sheep and some very spoiled chickens. We also have some exceptionally cute Nigerian Dwarf goats. We like to share all the gifts of farm life with our guests. During your stay on the farm you can enjoy fresh farm eggs and whatever vegetables we have ready for harvest at the time of your visit. Each private cabin has it's own porch with Adirondack chairs overlooking our growing fields and the Vermont hills. All of the cabins have heat, air-conditioning, WIFI, and fully equipped kitchens. This cabin has a private bedroom with a queen bed, a private bathroom with a tub/ shower combo and a living area with a futon couch that pulls out into a full mattress, a small coffee table, and a kitchen island with two stools which serves as the dining table. Clean linens are provided. While this cabin is pet friendly, there is a $20/night per pet charge--please let us know if you plan on bringing any pets.
Suzy And Todd’s home is located in Windsor, Vermont, United States. The farm is located on a quiet dirt road. The dirt roads are great for strolling or bike riding. The scenery is full of rolling hills and beautiful farmland. We are close to many popular Vermont attractions. We are only 11 miles from both Woodstock and Quechee. There is always something fun to do in both Woodstock and Quechee including walking around Woodstock Village, visiting the Billings Farm and Museum, VINS, glassblowing at Simon Pearce, and Quechee Gorge. We are also a short drive from Ascutney Mountain, Hanover, New Hampshire and Dartmouth College, King Arthur Flour in Norwich, and Harpoon Brewery in Windsor. In the winter, there are plenty of opportunities for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the area. Our farm is right down the road from the VAST Trail System for snowmobiling and we are a 45 minute drive from both Killington and Okemo Mountains for downhill skiing.

Fun themed bedroom in our home with twin bed on a quiet residential street. Lots of storage, comfortably quirky. Great for long-term stays; weekly/monthly discounts available. Check out our reviews and *other rooms* too! It's also the perfect springboard for foliage, hiking, day trips and more! OR you may just want to stay and enjoy our huge backyard with firepit, sledding, a swing and VIEWS. Extra bedding with floor pad available; our twin floor mattress may be available to reserve instead.
This is our home... we love it and according to most we keep it reasonably tidy. At the same time, we lead rich lives and try not to stress if things get backed up now and then. Rest assured that our listing rooms and linens are always cleaned before the arrival of each new guest. Same goes for the guest bathroom upstairs-- however, it is a shared space and may at any time reflect some use! If we're around, please let us know if it needs attention; if not, there are cleaning supplies in the hall closet just outside the bathroom :) Our kitchen is not the main focus of the listing; if you choose to use it, please note that it is awaiting renovation. It still has full functionality. PLEASE NOTE: If you book within 24 hours of arrival, we may not be able to clean your room until the late afternoon. You are still welcome to arrive as early as 1 p.m. and use the facilities.
Beautiful tree-lined street with plenty of space between houses, kind neighbors and very little traffic. Walking distance to town with all amenities including restaurants (most close by 8 or 9 p.m.), library, churches, shops and basic groceries. Large supermarket, drug store and other churches and stores within 2 miles, including the famous Farm-Way outdoor outfitters, gift shop and more. There are also several parks in Bradford: Elizabeth’s Park... Huge playground that families come from miles around to enjoy. Denny Park... Gazebo and green space in the middle of downtown with views of the White Mountains. Boch Park... Also downtown on Main Street, overlooks the dam on the Waits River and its beautiful waterfall!
