4x4 Tours & Activities | Desert Tracks in Swakopmund/Namibia
Full Day Zeila Shipwreck & Cape Cross Tour
Sandwich Harbour, Kuiseb Delta, Swakopmund Activity, Namib Desert, Marine Cruise, Salt Works, Walvis Bay Lagoon, Swakopmund Tours, Day Tours Namibia, Cape Cross, Seals, Eco Tour, 4x4 Tours, Dune Drive
After pick up we follow the road toward Henties in a northern direction, passing the Zeila Shipwreck along the way. Further on the journey takes you to Cape Cross where your guide will explain everything of interest about the cape fur seals and the surrounding area. The Skeleton Coast is a fascinating landstrip and has many hidden stories we would like to share.
The Cape Cross peninsula is of both historic and ecological significance, as it is the site of one of the first landings by European seafarers. It is also the home of some 100 000 cape fur seals. It was here that Diego Cao erected a stone cross in honour of a safe sea journey from Portugal in 1486.
We will give you detailed explanations of the seal colony while highlighting the historic endeavours of early settlers, who mined guano and harvested seals here. Another point of interest after you reach the holiday town of Henitiesbay is the “Free Republic of Wlotzka’s Baken”, some 40 km north of Swakopmund. This self-sustaining settlement of wooden cabins and bungalows on the beach is the haven of many beach anglers.
Once past the town of Hentiesbay, the road will lead past expansive salt pans where rock salt is being mined and refined.

Alter-Action cc was formed by Chris Jason and Beth Sarro in 1996, the first professional sandboarding operation on the Namibian Coast. With time and experience, Alter-Action developed the safest and most effective method of sliding on the dunes.
The "perfect" sandboarding dune was chosen - a star dune with six different faces and a towering height of 100 meters.
The dune is located approximately 11 km from Swakopmund. (5 kilometers as the crow flies.)
Three years after the formation of Alter-Action, the company introduced Stand Up Boarding. Alter-Action cc was the first sandboarding operation in Namibia to use proper snowboards to teach people boarding on the dunes.

One rainy afternoon, we decided to visit the Snake park, just before the evening closing. It was just GENIAL! A great diversity of beautiful snakes and the place itself is quite unusual. The owner is passionate and gave us the chance to attend the meal of one of the snakes. Even better, he hit us a boa! It was an incredible moment in a must-see place!

The best and most informative trip you can take your children on. A great display of reptilian life from Namibia and surrounding areas. The animals are well kept and display areas are always clean and tidy. You can see that the staff has a real passion for animals, and take good care of them, they're also extremely helpful and share lots of information with the visitors. We love the snake park, already visited 4 times and sure we will again. Can recommend to locals and tourists alike.

What a wide range of snakes you don't want to face by accident. Especially cobras. I have a great passion for snakes and enough knowledge for guiding tourists through a snake park and I was pretty much stunned. So many pythons too. An albino rattle snake and a very black Mamba, which is rather unusual as they are normally grey. All of the animals are in very good shape and everything is very clean.
