While Stinson Beach is larger and has more parking, Muir Beach is a great alternative that is smaller and more contained. It has all the elements of a Northern California beach. lots of sand driftwood and cool water to play it. You can come here surf in the water, play frisbee on the sand, roam along the shore with your dog and hike up the cliffs for the amazing views. It's a getaway that's not too far away. You can get out there and be on the sand within 30 minutes from our place. It's my secret playground, but I'm willing to share it with you.

Occasionally there can be a line but the queue moves pretty quickly. I'm partial to the fish tacos and a beer. They have other delicious items on the menu too. Make sure to check this place out if you have the time.

Bar-fights and Billiards
Just kidding about the bar fights, but a billiards game ot two is fun. They may still have a few video games in the back and definitely a pinball game. The music is loud and it is usually filled with local color.
Hey, it's not the fanciest but it sure is old school cool. and a great place for a pint. It smells like cigarettes from the '60s '70s '80s and '90s. The bar stools are less than comfortable, But there are two pool tables lots of TVs and a certain echo that you can't find at these fancier places.
And did I mention? It's open till 2:00 a.m.
