Παραλία Κατελειός
lovely sandy beach
At roughly ¾ ml long by ¼ ml wide, the quiet, secluded tourist hamlet of Kato Katelios mainly consists of small residential and holiday accommodation with a tiny nucleus of amenities by the beach, where there is a line of about 5 tavernas under shady trees. Most of the locals live in the inland village of Ano Katelios, up a steep hill to the N of the resort; a few properties are dotted around the area between the 2 centres. Generally it is very peaceful and low-key, no walking on the wild side here Locality: Katelios is at the south tip of the island, 5 mls W of Skala. 25 mls SE of Argostoli, 20 mls SE of the airport. It is on a wide bay with good views of the Ionian Sea, the island of Zante and Killini on the mainland. It is on a a small, fairly flat plain of olive and citrus groves, surrounded by rugged, stony, pine-clad hills. Reached via a serpentine road winding around the mountainside en route to Skala.

Probably my favourite little town, not as pretentious as Fiscardo, right up north if you fancy a long drive over the mountains! It’s worth it!
