Sightseeing
This place is a huge attraction in the area. Give it several hours to a whole day. Pack a lunch or check to see if the restaurant and gift shop is open. Check seasons, costs and requirements ahead of time.

City/town information
Mancos has a few art shops in it's tiny downtown that are worth visiting. There is a small health food store that is fantastic as well as a small basic grocery store that has good pizza and a small deli. The town is super tiny but it has a few fun gems. For more of everything and to get to a Walmart... you will need to travel 20 more minutes West to Cortez, which also has a lot more dining choices. If the point of your stay at the Chalet was to get away, you will love it! The privacy and wide open spaces are the best part. It is 30 minutes to Durango for a much larger variety. It sits in the middle of Durango, Cortez, Dolores, and Telluride for a great spot to travel in each direction for the days where you want huge adventures. We are new to the Mancos area, and had a condo in Durango. We are still discovering the fun things to do in Mancos!
