Good for Sunday Market, evening apéro / meal or just a mooch* (20 min walk).
Alternatively, the 202 bus takes you up the hill. While it's unlikely to be quicker...it does give a better view of some of the fancy houses along the way 😏

The heath itself is good for picnics, dog watching, kite flying and exercise.
The legendary Tea Hut is a good spot for motorbike enthusiast.

The best routes into central London if you're on a tight schedule are via:
- Lee train station (15 min walk, flat, through quiet residential streets)
- Lewisham train & DLR stations (15-20 min by bus depending on traffic)
- Blackheath (20 min walk, up a hill)

Cannon Street (for the City) ~45 min
Charing Cross (for Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square) ~45 min
London Bridge (for Borough Market) ~30 min
Victoria (for Chelsea) ~1h

Getting into central London (Scenic)
When not in a rush, and the sun is shining, my absolute favourite way to travel into the centre of London is on the river.
Thames Clipper catamarans leave regularly from:
- Greenwich Pier (best after sightseeing around Greenwich)
- Woolwich Pier (30 min by bus)
