Shar Mountain is rich with water, and it has 27 mountain lakes, more than 100 springs and over 25 mountain rivers. The waterfalls such as that on “Beloviska Reka”, which has a drop of 43 m and the waterfall near “Titov vrv” with a drop of 25 m are also especially interesting

nature paradise
Wander just a few miles out of the urban jungle, and you find yourself at the very gate to the Macedonian countryside. The first stop, surprisingly close to the city of Skopje, is the nature paradise known as Canyon Matka. An outdoor attraction covering 5000 hectares of breathtaking scenery, it is easily one of the most captivating places Macedonia has to offer.

Wander just a few miles out of the urban jungle, and you find yourself at the very gate to the Macedonian countryside. The first stop, surprisingly close to the city of Skopje, is the nature paradise known as Canyon Matka. An outdoor attraction covering 5000 hectares of breathtaking scenery, it is easily one of the most captivating places Macedonia has to offer.
Korab Falls (also known as Proifel Falls) is a waterfall in the upper course of the Dlaboka River on Mount Korab. It forms in springtime from the melting snow on the east side of Mal Korab peak. The waterfall differs in height and intensity, depending on the season. It is the highest waterfall in Macedonia and the Balkan Peninsula.There are different sources about the height of the waterfall, and the calculated drop varies from 100 to 138 m (328 to 453 ft). The exact height may differ in different points that are taken as its top and bottom, at different measurements. The upper point is at approximately 2,120 metres (6,960 ft) above sea level, and the lower is at around 1,990 metres (6,530 ft).

This extraordinary retro-futuristic memorial is the most unique church you'll see in North Macedonia. Inside the building there's a small 1st-floor museum displaying memorabilia relating to the famed Catholic nun of Calcutta, born in Skopje in 1910. On the 2nd floor there is a mind-boggling chapel, with glass walls wrought in filigree .Silhouettes of doves are worked into the filigree to symbolise peace, as an homage to Mother Teresa.

The mirrored-glass entrance is bizarrely unwelcoming, but once inside this is a moving museum with fascinating displays that commemorate the all-but-lost Sephardic Jewish culture of North Macedonia through a range of photos, English-language wall texts, maps and video. The exhibition documents the Jewish community's history in the Balkans, ending in WWII when some 98% of Macedonian Jews perished in the Holocaust.
