First trans-Atlantic communication happened here. A challenging hike and lots of sub hikes around. Shakespear by the Sea performs a show here in the summer. Great visitors centre and cafe. Check out the Burma Road hike, halfway up the hill near the pond. Built by US Servicemen in the 1950. Also if you come in the spring, look for the eagles nest.

Big church with a long history. It dominated the city view until the Rooms was built. May be able to hear live music if you go at the right time. Who doesn't go to a church while on vacation? The domination of the Catholic church in NL culture and history is well-known.

You will be amazed by the tasty beer, and the setting, which is "The Gut", a fishing town that was isolated from St. John's as little as 20 years ago.
