Cardinia Reservoir provides drinking water for Melbourne and as a result, there is no swimming or boating on the lake. However, it does provide a wonderful example of engineering in the creating of the dam wall AND creates a fabulous park to enjoy! Kangaroos are a-plenty and there are even a few emus strutting around, if you're lucky enough to spy them. Some wonderful scenic walks, bbqs and children's playgrounds make for a very nice day out.
