Start from the west exit of Ikebukuro station.of there are karaoke. Izakaya and restaurants. sky view at sunshine 60 building. also the sunshine street has cinema, arcades and shops. I recommend Zoshigaya area for walk from Ikebukuro. Its 30 mins walk from Ikebukuro station. you will have nice walk with completely different atmosphere with Shrine and locally old shops.
