Things I recommend in Iceland. Most of the things that you could be doing when you have a base in Reykjavik is on the south west corner.  So, the Day trips could be: Scenic day trips: (would go when the weather is good and hopefully sunny.) 1. Snæfellsjökull Peninsula. Go to Hotel Budir for lunch. Then drive around the glacier and see Kirkjufell mountain at Grundarfjörður.  Then on the way back to Reykjavik, take Hvalfjordur back if the weather is nice. Even spend a night a Hótel Búðir, then drive Hvalfjörður back and to the Thingvellir, and do the Golden Circle with the final stop at Fjöruborðið at Stokkseyri for some fresh Icelandic Lagostine in a pan. 2. The south coast.  Drive to Jökulsárslón. This is a 4 hour drive. Just Fjallsárlón and this one is worth the drive.  On the way you can stop at Dyrhólaey, Skógarfoss and Seljalandsfoss (you walk under it). 3. The Golden Circle It is a good day trip. Þingvellir - Gullfoss and then Geysir. Stop at Hveragerði in the old swimming pool in Laugaskard on the way back or at the Secret Lagoon in Flúðir. Also, stop at Fjörborðið after swimming and have some fresh Lagostine Lobster. VERY NICE and COZY. 4. The Blue Lagoon.  A must visit. Must book tickets with some advance.  5. The secret Lagoon at Flúðir is also very nice.  6. Google Seljavallalaug. This is close to Seljalandsfoss. You can go to Sólheimajökull in that day trip.  Spend some days in Reykjavik. There plenty of things to do there.  Walking tours, Harpa, The settler museum, etc. Think google visit Reykjavík.  There is Whale watching from Reykjavík harbour.  Hallgrímskirkja Spend time in the local geo-thermal pools in Reykjavik.
