Sightseeing
This is lovely in summer and has great views over London from Parliament Hill. You can even go swimming in the ponds there. Easiest way to get there is by Overground and you can take the Brondesbury stop which is right around the corner. It's just 3 stops. When you come out, turn to your right and go up the hill (S Hill Park) which forks left becoming Parliament Hill. Go up there and it takes you into the park and it's a short climb to the top of the hill where you'll get some pretty breathtaking views.

Quite pricey but good market food. You're a stone's throw away from the Observatory Hill (again, great views) and also where Greenwich Mean Time used to be calibrated from for centuries. The Queen's House there is beautiful and free to go in and has a nice picture gallery, including the famous Armada Portrait of Queen Elizabeth I.
If you're feeling adventurous, there's a tunnel that goes underneath the river which is pretty cool. It was for dock workers to cross the river without having to rely on the unpredictable boats.

There's an incredible array of work from Cubism to Conceptualism and if none of it takes your fancy, you can always enjoy the architecture of the building. Don't forget to take the lift up to the 10th floor of the extension to get the view from the viewing terrace!
Food scene
This, in my humble opinion, is one of the best gelaterias in London. All their ice cream is freshly made on site and there's a good range of sorbets and ice creams with a constantly changing menu for some quirky seasonal flavours.

This isn't really a secret any more but if you go at the right time you can have a meal or a drink with an amazing view over the river and the centre of London with all its skyscrapers from the decking out the back. It's in Rotherhithe which is a historic storage yard area and right around the pub are some characterful Victorian buildings which are quite evocative. Best way to get there is to go to Canada Water on the Jubilee Line and it's a 5 min walk.
