Amusement Park

If you are into amusement of any kind (including people watching), Cedar Point is for you. There are PLENTY of rollercoasters, some live music, delicious salt water taffy, and great views of Lake Erie. If you go, I suggest parking in the "back" of the park near the water park (Soak City). You'll have to stay to the left when entering the park, but you'll get a beautiful drive around the park and will be able to see some of the star attractions along the way. There are less people who park back there, but it is worth the convenience factor. Ask me if you have questions...

Nature and Sightseeing

One of the premier water locations in the area. There is a public beach, plenty of picnic tables, and some hiking trails. You'll also get some great views of Kelley's Island and Put-in-Bay, as well as a close up view of people enjoying all kinds of water sports.

Island Life

Ferry ride, golf cart, and glaciers? You can get a little of them all at Kelley's Island. You'll have to take a boat or ferry to the island (Miller's, Jet Express, etc.), but it will be worth it. This island is a little more laid back than Put-in-Bay, which explains why some of the highlights are remnants of ancient glacial grooves, golf cart rides through beautiful wooded roads, and a handful of restaurants and shops.

Where do I begin? Let me first say that the Jet Express is only about a mile from the house, and a short ride across Lake Erie to the "party island." In fact, the longest permanent bar in the world is at the Beer Barrel Saloon on this island... I guess you can also visit Perry's Monument along your adventure. When the sun sets, make sure you have your return tickets handy because the night will be over before you know it. So many bars and so little time... FYI - The Boardwalk has the BEST lobster bisque in Ohio... Possibly even the world. I once rode my jetski an hour (and back) through rough water with a storm approaching just to have a bowl before I left for the weekend.
