An old church changed into a community house. Every night at 6 o’clock is ‘Folkekøkken’ (community eating) and we strongly recommend to try it out. The food is very nice and cheap, you eat what everyone eats, you sit together, can’t book beforehand and always always get to talk to people you don’t know. The seating starts at 5 o’clock and we recommend to be there early – have a game of chess or cards while you wait. Ask at the counter how things are done as the instructions are in Danish. It’s a 15 minutes walk from the apartment just over the small Brygge Bridge, by the shopping mall Fisketorvet and across Dybbelsbro.

It is always extraordinary to see Copenhagen from the water. At Go Boat you can rent a boat for a few hours. They are easy to manage and gives you the best view of the city. It’s a bit pricey and the public boat busses that you can ride with the same tickets as the metro and s-train also give you the waterside experience. The nearest stop is right at Islands Brygge near the small Islands Brygge bridge

Nansensgade. We used to live there. This is by far the best street in Copenhagen. Go there and take your time to feel the soul of the street with its bars, cafés and vibe. Bankeråt is weird café that manages to hold on to their regulars. SLURP RAMEN JOINT is the best ramen in town. The designer Kent – he does beautiful unique designs and has started a trend in the street with lots of olive trees – and not small ones, that is. The pizza place. These guys are Italian – and proud! If you feel low, they will pick you up. Except if Juventus are playing – then you don’t get much attention. The restaurant Nansensgade 30 is also very very nice. But through the whole street there are lots of small new places that pop up.
