The Beach House Restaurant is not one to miss! Go directly before sunset to enjoy the beautiful scenery and…a large flock of parrots that fly to the palm trees surrounding the restaurant. Early risers can also watch the parrots leave at dawn. You do not have to eat at the restaurant. Just need to be in the vicinity. It is a bit pricey but the food, view, parrots and service make it worthwhile. The Kiahuna Plantation has a fabulous restaurant called Plantation Gardens on site. The menu is a little pricey but delicious. It is also great for wine and spirits. The Ququl'ula Shopping Village is a 5 minute or less drive up the road and offers some yummy restaurants like Living Foods Delicatessen, Tortilla Republic, Jocelyn's Tapas, Dude Dogs, Savage Shrimp, Bubba's Burgers (fish ones also), and Lappert's ice cream to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Parking can be tricky. Drive all the way to the beach. There are many homes as you get to the end of the road, closest to the beach. You will feel like you’re parking on someone’s property when in fact it is public land. You will see signs that point you to the beach.

Rent a kayak or stand up paddle board from shops next to the river. You can take a tour or do it independently. Families, be advised that it take roughly 2 hours to paddle up the river to the grotto. So fun and beautiful!

Toiletries, drinks, over the counter and prescription medicine, etc. PLEASE consider purchasing reef safe sunscreens. Hawaii just passed a law banning all sunscreens containing oxybenzone and octinoxate in order to maintain the health of the the reefs, ocean and ourselves.

Since the Na Pali coast is only accessible by boat for most visitors, this 11 mile trail provides access to the coast for some breathtaking views. The first couple of miles ends at Hanakapiai Beach so you don’t have to go very far.
