Spitafield is a great indoor market where you can find a wide selection of foods, artisanal and clothes stalls. The market is also surrounded by more mainstream shops so it has everything you need to fulfil your shopping needs. And it's just a 15 minute walk from the flat!

If you like modern art, Whitechapel Gallery frequently has interesting exhibitions from different contemporary artists. It's quite a small museum so 1 hour is usually enough to see it all.

If you want a taste of the Middle East, Delamina is the place to go. Aside from the delicious food, the staff is very friendly and interior is lovely. Just next to Spitafield Market, it's one of my favourite restaurants in Shoreditch.
