We love to eat . . . and there are some tantalizing and renowned restaurants in our neighborhood. Outside of Germantown, we also love some of the old school Nashville dives. Read through our list with your own preferences in mind. If you have questions about any other places you've researched online, shoot us a note. We are happy to help you find the perfect spots for your lifestyle!
City House is one of our FAVORITE restaurants. It easily has the best bartenders in Nashville! Tandy Wilson, the owner and head chef, has been gracing Nashville with his edible ideas for years and we are thankful to call him our neighbor.
NOTE: Be sure to ask well ahead of arrival for reservations. This place can stay booked weeks out! But, if you forgot to make a reservation, be bold and tactful by walking in and checking availability in person . . . or belly up to the bar or pizza counter - where you can also order food along with your fabulous cocktail!

Not only will you enjoy walking around 5 points to take in the East Nashville scene, but this casual diner will surprise you with it's fresh salads, veggies, rotisserie chicken, and famous muffins. The black bean salad is a big seller and our favorite salad is the Lucayan - yum!

Edley's won the hearts of Nashvillians when it hit the scene. With two locations (12th South & East Nashville), you can assure yourself the best brisket along with some unexpected twists on BBQ for those adventurous eaters. We prefer the 12th South location. This area of town is extremely busy, so plan around the lunch or dinner rush. 12th South is a neighborhood very similar to Germantown in that it is mostly walkable and full of mixed use spaces.

Sightseeing
There are many sights within walking distance (or a short lyft ride if you prefer) from our door. The Farmer's Market, BiCentennial Mall Park, The Capital Building, Broadway's Honky Tonks and night life, plus local retailers with merchandise you won't find anywhere else, all grace our walking district. Go ahead and eat that Jeni's ice cream . . . you'll walk it off. :)
The Farmer's Market is next to Bicentennial Mall Park and near the capital building. It has a multitude of food vendors to fit any budget or taste. You may find the famous Nashville food trucks parked outside from time to time, as well. Local artisans sell their wares in the outside venue and local musicians can be heard during peak hours as scheduled. Depending on the time of year, you can check the schedule online to find out what seasonal events are happening. This is also the pick up location for the famous "pink bus" if you decide to do that adult tour!

Radnor Lake is a beautiful hike through rolling hills nearby the city. This hike is easy for all ages. We have seen deer, turkeys, owls, turtles, and a variety of other wildlife on these trails.

Percy Warner and Edwin Warner parks are a great hike and offer a variety of trails. These trails attract runners, so please be mindful of others around you as you hike.

The Station Inn has been here before time began and still hosts the BEST bluegrass music you can find in the south. It's not uncommon to spot celebrities like Alison Kraus or Vince Gill sitting in with the band or among the crowd. If there is any part of you that likes music, this is worth making a priority!

The Station Inn has been here before time began and still hosts the BEST bluegrass music you can find in the south. It's not uncommon to spot celebrities like Alison Kraus or Vince Gill sitting in with the band or among the crowd. If there is any part of you that likes music, this is worth making a priority!

The store was opened by the owner's wife whose dream it was to enrich children's lives. She has since passed and he still runs the store with his 3 teen daughters. We visit before every kid's birthday party and always walk out with a winner without breaking the bank. They will even gift wrap it for free! Find books (both the renown and the unique), kids origami, painting/art/crafts, puppets, dress up, all things wheels . . . from baby to - well, I might have done one of the dragon kits myself and I'm not going to share my age! :)
Surprise a little one back home or keep your traveling wee one entertained. And grab some ice cream across the hallway from Pied Piper Creamery. Strawberry is our favorite!

The store was opened by the owner's wife whose dream it was to enrich children's lives. She has since passed and he still runs the store with his 3 teen daughters. We visit before every kid's birthday party and always walk out with a winner without breaking the bank. They will even gift wrap it for free! Find books (both the renown and the unique), kids origami, painting/art/crafts, puppets, dress up, all things wheels . . . from baby to - well, I might have done one of the dragon kits myself and I'm not going to share my age! :)
