The mineral baths were originally built in 1784 by Napoleon for his troops and the water has the same medicinal properties as Aixde-Bains in France. It is our family tradition to go to the baths the day after arriving on the is-land to soothe those sore travel muscles. It is best to arrive at the baths early in the morning when they open around 10am or after 2pm when most of the tours are finished for the day. Think of the baths as an outdoor spa surrounded by magnificent gardens. The baths and gardens are very affordable (approximately $7 US per person).

The trail, which is said to be pretty easy takes about an hour and goes along the ridge that connects to the Piton, offering some amazing views of the Pitons and the town of Soufriere as you go.

The villa is located about a 10 minute walk (20 minute walk back as it mostly up hill ) or 3 minute drive from Anse Chastanet/Jade Mountain Beach which is arguably one of the best and most beautiful beaches on the island. Anse Mamin which is their sister beach is a short 5 minute walk along the coast from Anse Chastanet. These two beaches are beautiful and offer some of the best snorkeling on the island. The reefs are located just off the shore. Both of these beaches have restaurants and bars as well.

I would definitely recommend the “Piton Wall” dive at the base of the Pitons, “Superman’s Flight” and also “Pinnacles” which is the reef directly below the villa.
