Sightseeing

Green School is part of the bigger vision by John Hardy. A visit to Green School is a unique opportunity to see, feel and hear about one of the world’s most stunning and progressive places of learning. From soaring bamboo structures, to the beautiful Ayung River, our paths through the jungle will take you to a place like no other. A tour here can be organised directly at the reception.

Another one of John Hardy's creations. Bambu Indah is a radically unique boutique hotel in Ubud, Bali - a stunning combination of bamboo buildings and antique Javanese teak wood bridal homes. Go to the restaurant and stay to checkout the beautiful gardens and scenery.

Garden House Overview

This villa is part of the Green Village vision by John Hardy and Elora Hardy almost 10 years ago. The village has been featured in various magazines, blogs and other publications for its magical architecture, privileged location and unique experience. Today, this bamboo villa is your home and we appreciate if you could treat it with love and respect. We welcome you to a taste of bamboo heaven and living close to nature. We are a GREEN House. We are a GREEN home. We want to make it easy for you to be outside, enjoying all that Bali has to offer while keeping your footprint on the island small. Throughout your stay, please:- Keep your electricity, water and A/C consumption to a reasonable level- Avoid using plastic bottles and refill using the main water station here in the kitchen - Don't throw tampons and other sanitary products into the toilet The villa has a KITCHEN and comes equipped with most of the equipment that you will need to cook and eat. You can buy local groceries from a nearby shop but supplies are limited. Most guests will chose to dine from the on-site cafe because not only is the food tasty but also reasonably priced. The kitchen does need some time to prepare food (depending on the item) so please check directly with the staff if you have any last minute orders. The kitchen is open from 7am and last order is 8pm.

Transport Options

GETTING AROUND is a combination of walking, scooters or taxi. WALKING For walking, you are welcome to walk within the public areas of Green Village. For those more adventurous, you can walk to the river. Otherwise, Green Village is not located within walking distance to any sites and I suggest you hire a taxi or scooter. TAXI advice There is no proper taxi service in Ubud, which is annoying and Uber is being banned and using it is being penalised in Ubud. There are many private drivers and can be organised before checkin or after checkin. We have access to a number of great drivers and they are always available at any time. They will drive you to Ubud and back and also do half day tours and full day tours upon request. SCOOTER advice and safety tips Hiring a scooter is only recommended for those who are comfortable navigating the crazy traffic of Bali. Some safety tips: 1)Most accidents happen on gravel, when people break too hard or swerve. Take it easy around gravel. 2)The traffic may feel a bit chaotic but the drivers are not aggressive. Just go the speed you want and people will not honk at you for going too slow. 3)Be obvious in your movements on the bike (i.e. don’t do anything surprising)
