Go for a short walk - summer or winter--from the doorstep to Holtane Hyttegrend. At the end of the car road where the cross country skislope goes towards Gjesdal you will find a small open hut that is free to use. Here you will find wood, amazing view, benches for the whole family and a grillpit.
Bring hot chocolate, wine or grill up some food. Spend the evening outdoors and if you are really lucky...you might spot the aurora (northeren lights) dancing over you.

The museum is one of four district museums in the County of Sogn & Fjordane. The main feature of the open-air museum is the cluster of buildings that have been transported here from various places in the district of Sunnfjord. 25 antiquarian buildings in authentic cultural landscape, provide an insight into how life was in Sunnfjord settlements in the mid-1800's. The crofter's holding is on its original site, the interior of the home is as in the beginning of the 20th century. The administration building is open all year round and houses the reception, a shop and a variety of exhibitions . In June, July and August there are guided tours daily through the old buildings. There are public toilets at the museum and the grounds are ideal for picnics, where you can take a bath and fish in Movatnet.
