Getting to Amsterdam from Zaandam and vice versa is easy!
Getting to Amsterdam from Zaandam and vice versa is easy! Buy your train ticket at the yellow & blue machines at the station, check in at the yellow & blue poles at the platforms or in the station hall and hop on the train. Make sure you install the NS (Nederlandse Spoorwegen) app on your Phone.
There is a direct train from Schiphol to Amsterdam (13 minutes) and Zaandam (19 minutes) and vice versa as well as a direct train between Amsterdam and Zaandam and vice versa (12 minutes). Just ask me or use the NS app.

Buying souvenirs
No need to buy your souvenirs at the crazy expensive tourist shops at The Zaanse Schans or the tourist shops in Amsterdam. You might as well buy them at the supermarkets (Albert Heijn) or at Xenos (in almost every larger city).

Farmers Market in Zaandam
On Thursdays and Saturdays between 8.00 and 16.00 there is a farmers market at the Rozengracht in Zaandam (behind the C&A). Flowers, plants, vegetables, fruit, nuts, bread, anything. Have a look!
