Leafeaters is a favorite spot of ours because the view, food and service is excellent! Located on Carenero Island, a short water taxi ride away from Bocas, you can enjoy vegetarian or fish specials while watching the water taxi scene on the water! Explore their store for local crafts!

Our island includes indigenous villages, hiking areas, snorkeling and kayaking. There are no cars, roads, street lights, parking lots. There are water taxies and off grid living.
We have a cat, Sonrisa, who stays at our home located below the casita. Be aware that dogs, chickens, wild birds like pelicans, parrots and oropendulas and other creatures such as sloths may be seen.

Make sure you try the fish tacos at Nacho Mamas! They are right on Red Frog beach. Delicious! With a wonderful view!
Body surfing is often good. Hike the beach and head east to hike more beaches, monkey and oropendula habitats along the way.

A variety of food stores are all around Bocas Town.
Always make a grocery list as there are many stores in town, and go to Todo if you need a department or hardware store. Anyone can show you the way. Walk everywhere and use a taxi in town for new hospital—covid vacinations; other shots.

Shop in Bocas town for staples and use local fruit & veggie markets. Toto is a grocery similar to US stores. Super Gourmet has local products and a great Deli.

Getting around
Take a water taxi to and from our dock on Solarte (5$ one way per person) and walk in Bocas town. Use bus, taxi or rented bike to head out of town on Colon Island. The beach across from Sanddollar BnB is a good place to swim. Walk or bike there. Excursion tours can be arranged to pick you up at our dock.

Packing
Temperatures are from 75 - 85 and rain storms can occur —pack light clothes, bathing suit, cover-up, water and mud shoes. If traveling by long-distance bus, or visiting public offices, pack long pants and shirts with sleeves. Our casita has outside spaces suitable for drying clothes. Laundry service is in town.
