Spread across five million-sqft, it is locally known as 1U and is divided into two wings: the Old Wing and New Wing. Recently the Old Wing was given a thorough revamp that saw the addition of new stores, a glossy and sleek façade plus there is even a third-floor entertainment zone (similar to the one on the New Wing) in the works.

The cave is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India, and is dedicated to Lord Murugan. It is the focal point of the Hindu festival of Thaipusam in Malaysia.
