Ski areas
This is the closest ski area to the chalet and is made up of lifts and runs from multiple villages, all connected to form an enormous area with 185km of slopes. It is incredibly varied and will suit skiers of all abilities. Overall, the area is lovely and underrated, it offers uncrowded slopes with stunning views over Mont Blanc. It has varied runs, and is easily accessible for beginners, but simultaneously provides plenty of interesting slopes and some off-pisting for more experienced skiers.
Espace Diamant

It has varied runs, and is easily accessible for beginners, but simultaneously provides plenty of interesting slopes and some off-pisting for more experienced skiers.
In general, you will find plenty of varied skiing in the Megève area, and it has multiple great ski schools to choose from. However, it does tend to be busier, and is somewhat more expensive. It also has frequent markets, plenty of boutiques, and lots of delicious cafes and restaurants.

La Giettaz is a lovely quiet resort with gentle slopes that run through woods, and also provides more exciting and adventurous runs which connect to the 100km of pistes in the whole resort. With lovely panoramic views at the top, including over Mont Blanc, it is wonderful area to ski, even without the connections to more expansive pistes. The ‘Bonjournal’ is a lovely spot for lunch or a hot chocolate, and the long blue run ‘treffleannaise’ which takes you back to the car park is the perfect way to end the day.

Les Contamines boasts 120km of pistes suitable for everyone from beginner to expert, and with very good views of the close-by Mont Blanc and Beaufortain valley, it is a lovely spot. Higher than some of its neighbouring resorts, up to 2,500m, it tends to have very good snow cover and is nice to ski at in all conditions.
Summer activities
Only a half an hour walk from the chalet is the delightful lake in Flumet, almost deserted in the early morning, but popular with families and groups during the day. There are lifeguards at peak times, and two lovely cafes. The perfect spot for the laidback sunbathers and the keen swimmers alike.

With lovely spots to swim, rent peddle boats and bikes, and the gorgous town itself, Annecy is a must-do day trip from the chalet in the summer!
