Hike the famous Boulder flatirons. You can stick to the trails at the bottom for an easier hike, or go all the way up and see some amazing views of the Rockies. Takes about an hour and a half to get to the top and is a moderately strenuous hike.

Really amazing place about 45 min. away from Longmont. This wild animal sanctuary rescues wild animals from abusive captive situations and rehabs them in their own huge habitats. They have rescued quite a few animals from the Tiger King Joe Exotic's zoo. It's a wide open outdoor space with 1.5 miles of elevated walkway, where you can see the animals, but they aren't disturbed by you. I HIGHLY recommend if you have the time.
