Activities
A favorite stop for the kids each summer. This local gem is best during the week (gets a bit busy on the weekend). Enjoy boating, tubing, knee boarding, water skiing, lake swimming and playing in the playground!

Not many of these left! A true favorite. Concessions are VERY reasonably priced, but you're welcome to bring your own goodies too. But their popcorn is amazing and the burgers are a great deal!

Tru Vu Drive In Theatre
1001 CO-92Very nostalgic local folks fun. Two movies each night, you'll leave around midnight or later. Usually a family friendly movie plays first, but check listings/ratings before you go! Not many of these left! A true favorite. Concessions are VERY reasonably priced, but you're welcome to bring your own goodies too. But their popcorn is amazing and the burgers are a great deal!
A very cool natural feature as you enter Ouray, CO. For littles this is a very quick 15 minute hike/loop where you get a cool spraying look up through box canyon. Extend the excursion a little bit and head up the side of the mountain, maybe adds another 30 minutes (take your water!). Extend even more and do the loop hike around the perimeter of town! Plan a few hours for that one.

On Bluff Street between 11th and 12th St. you'll find the entrance to this park and the first tee off for this frisbee (disc) golf course! You'll find a set of frisbee discs in the hall closet for use!

Food scene
A variety of lovely wineries and tastings rooms in the area. Stop by Big B's Orchard Store in Hotchkiss for picnic provisions, maybe a taste of their hard cider-yum, a a swing on their swings! Then head on to the wineries! Our favorites include Stone Cottage Cellars and Azura. Note: the last time we stopped at AZURA (our favorite tasting room and site) there were no indoor restrooms available, only portable restrooms. All of these stops are seasonal (May-October). Check sites before you go if in the off season.
