City/town information
There are two routes to Lake Tahoe, I-80 & Hwy 55. In the winter, be sure to check road conditions before leaving. Both roads may completely close during active snowfall. I-80 takes you to the northern part of the lake and to Reno. Hwy 55 will get you to South Lake Tahoe, which is a quaint town full of shops and eateries and even water sports if you are tough enough for the cold water!

We recommend that you pick about 3 wineries to do tastings for the day. There are so many amazing choices, you can’t go wrong. Mumm Napa for bubbly. Hall Winery for insanely beautiful views and a refined Cab. V. Sattui for sweet port wines and one of the very few wineries that also offers a gourmet deli lunch. Cakebread Winery has a fun tasting and there is a gondola ride and castle tour at Sterling Vineyards. On your way back to The Hangar, stop at Bouchon Bakery and pick up macrons...you won’t regret it!

Ficelle—Downtown Winters. A Spanish tapas restaurant with really amazing food and the best Sangria in California. It is a tiny place, so expect to wait and possibly sit outside if you arrive during prime dinner hours.
