Food scene
Our favorite place to eat by far is Mia’s up on 108. They have great pizza, burgers, salads etc. During the quiet seasons, they close on Wednesdays and sometimes Tuesdays. They have a dog-friendly patio and our dog loves their burgers.
Mia's has a full bar and decent wine list to boot.

The Steam Donkey down at Pinecrest Lake is our second favorite. They also offer a nice outdoor eating space and you can take takeout to the picnic area at the lake. They are not dog friendly even on their patio.

The food is so-so but the deck overlooking the river is a great place to sit and chat, have a glass of wine and hang out. They do a good breakfast as well. The Strawberry Inn is a long but comfortable walk from the cabin if you want to stretch your legs.

The Clark Fork of the Stanislaus River offers good to better stream fishing. Drive to the end of the road and walk a while to get away from everybody…and find more fish. Note that a forest fire came through a couple years back and parts of the area are affected.

Hiking
Only about .5 miles up from the cabin, this is a great 3 mile hike. We recommend if you have two cars, parking one at Frazier Flats so you can hike down and drive back.

This 4 mile loop takes you around scenic Pinecrest lake. There are restrooms at the back of the lake. At the back of the lake you can also fork off into several other trails.
