Hiking and outdoor spots
Make a whole day out of driving to the McKenzie River Gorge. There is a great four mile loop hike that starts at these falls. If you are feeling up to it hike the Blue Pools as well. In the summer you can drive one of the ways over Highway 242 for a scenic windy road through the Sisters. Sisters is a cute town to hang out in and grab a meal in on the way in or out. Everyone who takes the time to go here loves it and thanks us for the tip.

Beautiful waterfall only 20 minute drive away. Note that the road all the way to the base of the falls is only open in the summer. Hike up past the falls and you see a new waterfall every half mile or so. Super pretty trail and the crowds quickly disappear as you go up.

This is the biggest mountain biking trailhead. It is actually just a 3 mile bike ride from our garage mostly on single track to get there or you can do the quick drive to bike from here.

Warmish lake in the summer with multiple beaches to choose from. There are a ton of great lakes up on Cascades Lakes Highway. This is the best for big beaches (Sunset Beach at Elk Lake) with kids.
