You cannot come to Tenerife and miss this. Rent a car and drive up to Teide. You can access it from La Esperanza (north), Arafo (centre) or Vilaflor (south). Take time to stop as you're driving up and notice the changing scenery made by rocks from an eruption that took place 4000 years ago. Gaze at the amazing power of the volcano and make sure you take pictures with backgrounds which literally look from another planet.
