61Vigur is in Súðavík district and is the second largest island in Ísafjarðardjúp. Located at the mouth of Skötufjörður and Hestfjörður, it is about 2 km in length and less than 400 m in width. Vigur is a co-operative farm that practices mixed farming. Vigur is considered to have one of the biggest breeding places for eider ducks in the country and as a consequence the gathering of eiderdown is considerable. It is estimated that around 80 thousand puffins are on the island each summer, but there are also numerous black guillemots and arctic terns. The family and outdoor activities park Raggagarður was officially opened on 6 August 2005. The park is located at the outer residential area of Súðavík above the guesthouse. The park offers good entertainment for all family members, whether you want to use the recreational equipment or barbecue and spend a pleasant time with the family in beautiful and peaceful surroundings.
