Here are some of my favorite places to eat around Ljubljana.
The owner of the cafe has got the best coffee in Ljubljana - and you come here to enjoy the taste of coffee itself, cold brew coffees, espresso etc. - together with a description of the particular place in Columbia the beans are coming from. Great atmosphere, beautiful tiny place. Just take some time for yourself and a cup of coffee over a relaxed talk. On Sunday there are great brunches organized by this cafe and a local restaurant, where for a change you can learn how to combine the taste of coffee without any milk with the right food for it.

Druga violina (Second violin) is a social enterprise which employs people with special needs. They serve hearty portions of typical Slovenian food, among other. It's a warm, comfortable place, not too pretentious, but very popular with locals and with visitors.

A great place for a simple lunch when you want to try something different. A young team, nice middle east cuisine - falafel, baked vegetables, salads, soup etc. Very good value.

Just 200 meters away from our home is one of the best pizzerias in Ljubljana - or even in the world, as some people say. Cool atmosphere, fabulous pizzas, tables outside on the river bank. Overall a great place to hang out on a beautiful evening.

The legendary Metelkova - an "alternative centre of Ljubljana". Worth a visit even during the daytime - just for taking pictures and checking out it's street art. Mostly on Fridays there are various concerts with indie music groups and just some parties in the several bars.

A family-owned handcrafted and souvenirs shop. They have very nice locally designed products that are made in Slovenia: e.g. wooden jewelry, vintage bags, things for kids, home wares and furniture etc.
