Magical spots
Just above our place, a short 5 min walk (hike?) uphill- but it is well worth the light sweat - the views of the city, sea and other fortresses are gorgeous - you can feel the city's deep history from there very well, while enjoying a cold craft beer on a hot summer day. On Wednesdays they usually screen movies there- so if you are there during that time- be sure to catch a film under the stars!

One of my favourite spots in the world. There is just something so unusual and special about it, it used to be closed to public, but we would sneak in and go inside to watch sunsets from it, it was so beautiful. I believe that there are guided tours you can take now, that will take you there with a boat!

We've been spending time on Jadrija every summer, for as long as I can remember so it holds a very special place in my heart. It's stripped of all the city noise and what's left is very pure and genuine. There are boats going several times a day from Riva (when you are on a walk go there to check a schedule) and it's actually a really lovely 20min ride where you will pass by the magical St.Nicholas fortress in the middle of the sea.
If you do decide to go to Jadrija for a beach day, make sure to check out Mali Viganj - it's a very charming little spot run with awesome views and music. You can even go for a private windsurfing lesson, which is also very special.

My personal favourites are tuna pashticada and baked octopus with potatoes. Great staff makes the place even nicer. It has only 10 or so tables so make sure to make a reservation as it is usually packed in the summer!

If you are looking for a friendly face (or two), this place has the warmest staff and yummy food - my personal favourites being smoked mussels risotto and truffle fries- YUMM!

If you are done with fancy dinners and just want a simple, quick meal - go to Pluto's. For about 10eur you get a huge burger, potatoes and a beer - what's not to like?
Their chef is a lovely granny that puts a lot of effort into them and you can tell. I don't eat meat and I was very surprised to find a vegan burger in Sibenik, and even more surprised that it was SO good. My bf eats meat and his favourites are chilly and truffle burgers. We've been there more than 10 times now and we'll be back again!
Be sure to come with an empty stomach as the meals are huge.

Probably in top 3 restaurants that I have ever been to - I've been going there many years for my birthday in August. It's on a wonderful little island Zlarin, 20-30min fairy ride from Sibenik - fairy goes several times a day. I would advise to go there for a half day trip, enjoy the clear sea and then make sure to go for late lunch/dinner to Prslika- you won't regret it. Fun fact- Bono visited it once, still one of the proudest moments of this little island:)
