For those who want some activities, but want to stay close to the cabin. Twain Harte downtown has a public pool, golf course, and bocce ball. In addition, the town has some of the best restaurants in the area.

Pinecrest Lake Day Trip
Calling all water babies, we highly recommend going to Pinecrest Lake which is about 24 miles away from the cabin. Along the way, make a stop at Alicia's Sugar Shack in Twain Harte for absolutely amazing baked goods. In the summer, Pinecrest Lake has an amazing amphitheater that shows movies in the evenings. If you only intend to make a short stop at Pinecrest, you can drive another 12 mi up to the Stanislaus Naitonal Forest for some awesome hiking and biking.

Historic Columbia State Park Day Trip
Columbia Historic State Park is only 10 miles away. The park is an actual town that has been preserved with restaurants, shops, two hotels and a theater with live performances. Along the way, we recommend dropping in at Mandy's Breakfast House for an amazing and hearty breakfast. And if you're really organized you can reserve a photo shoot with Kamice’s Photographic Establishment, which provides a unique experience to travel back in time by dressing up in nineteenth-century costumes and having an old-time photo made for a fun memorable keepsake that will last a lifetime.

The Urban Day Trip
We love Old Town Sonora with all of the shops and restaurants. It's adorable. It's a great way to spend the day, pick up some picnic foods in town, and head out to Indigeny Reserve for some alcoholic cider and brandy tasting and a picnic on their grounds.

Winter Day Trip
For those snow bunnies out there, We highly recommend:
Dodge Ridge which is about 24 miles away from the cabin. Along the way, make a stop at Alicia's Sugar Shack in Twain Harte for absolutely amazing baked goods. On the way back, stop by the Long Barn Lodge for some indoor ice skating to round our your winter day trip. They even have ice walkers for ice skating newbies so everyone can enjoy the ice.
