This place is hard to categorize but if you are interested in architecture, women of note, history, or a break from University-related activities near the campus, this Julia-Morgan designed residence hall is a treasure of quiet delights.

The Berkeley Marina has plenty of parking and walking options, including an off-leash dog area for reasonably behaved canines~
If you are a long walker and have the time, this area is also accessible via the bike and pedestrian bridge overpass, from Aquatic Park and 4th street shopping districts.
There are of course also boats, a boat yard, wildlife conservation areas, a nature center, a kite fliers' hill, adventure playground, and an outdoor classroom offering sailing and windsurfing lessons seasonally.
Sea Breeze market is open for standard snacks and some local favorites, Skates restaurant and bar has a superb sunset view for drinks and other dinner ideas.
