1st district Its history: Between the Louvre which is the most visited paid cultural site in the country, the Conciergerie where the kings of France lived, the Sainte-Chapelle which even dazzled the Revolutionaries to the point of being spared, or even the Saint-Eustache church which bears witness to the entire history of Les Halles since the 13th century… the rich heritage of the 1st arrondissement is definitely breathtaking! Its shops: Beneath its museum-like air also hides a temple of shopping! From the prestigious jewelers of Place Vendôme, to the recently renovated Samaritaine, via the long rue de Rivoli and the brand new Forum des Halles, there is something for everyone. Its gardens: The Tuileries gardens and its many sculptures, the flower gardens of the Palais-Royal, the romantic Vert-Galant square on the banks of the Seine, and of course the charming, more intimate Place Dauphine.

3rd district Its superb hotel-museums The district is fortunate to be endowed with a large number of 17th century mansions which have been the perfect setting for setting up museums. Thus, the Hôtel Salé houses the Picasso Museum, the Hôtel Carnavalet has become the Museum of the History of Paris, the Hôtel de Donon presents the Cognacq-Jay collection, the Musée des Archives Nationales has taken up residence in the hotel de Soubise, and the Museum of Hunting and Nature in the Hôtel Guénégaud. As for the Museum of Arts and Crafts, it has moved into a former priory from the 12th century! Its atypical restaurants The 3rd arrondissement benefits from the oldest market in Paris, the Enfants-Rouges: an authentic, warm place with super nice little restaurants (busy on Sundays!). It is also the most coveted by specialized concept-stores such as the first Millefeuille bar in Paris, the chouquettes bar or the first robotic pizzeria in the capital... And that does not prevent it from being chosen to welcome revisited classics such as the new République broth Its unusual places Finally, we love to stumble upon unexpected nuggets by chance on a street like the oldest house in Paris, which was built in 1407 by the famous Nicolas Flamel. The little-known Passage de l'Ancre which takes us on a journey through time, or the imposing Carreau du Temple, which recalls the presence of the Templars in the capital.

5th district Its incredible remains Inhabited by the Romans more than 2000 years ago, the 5th arrondissement preserves historical vestiges such as the Arènes de Lutèce and the thermal baths of Cluny which are now part of the National Museum of the Middle Ages. There is also a Cistercian monastery, the Collège des Bernardins, and the oldest tree in Paris, in the René Viviani square near the Saint-Julien-le-Pauvre church! Its great schools The Latin Quarter owes its name to the historic schools that were built there from the 13th century and where classes were given in Latin. With the Sorbonne, the College de France, the School of Medicine, it has become the intellectual heart of the capital. Its charming streets As a student district par excellence, we love the atmosphere of the famous rue Mouffetard and the Saint-Michel district. We also like strolling through the narrow streets of the Sainte-Geneviève mountain around the Saint-Etienne du Mont church, admiring the beauty of the Place du Panthéon, marveling at the view from the Institut du monde arabe or even dancing on the Quai Saint-Bernard…

6th district Its legendary cafes A literary and artistic meeting place for all of Paris at the beginning of the 20th century, the Café de Flore, the Deux Magots and the Lipp brasserie have been elevated to the rank of veritable institutions! Its historic restaurants One thinks of course of the Procope, the oldest café in Paris which dates from 1686. Also Lapérouse, where Baudelaire, Flaubert, Maupassant and Zola sat down. Its remarkable buildings We no longer know where to turn between the splendid Luxembourg garden which houses the Senate, the prestigious Institut de France with its Mazarine library and its view of the Pont des Arts, the Hôtel de la Monnaie, the imposing theater of the 'Odéon and its ceiling painted by Jean-Paul Laurens, the Saint-Sulpice church and its gnomon, the charming Delacroix Museum on Place Furstenberg, the pleasant rue Saint-André-des-arts…

7th district The Hôtel des Invalides, the Palais Bourbon, the Ecole Militaire and as a bonus, the Eiffel Tower... the 7th is rich in monuments and museums: the Rodin museum, the quai Branly museum, the Orsay museum or even the Maillol museum to name but a few… Unknown green spaces The 7th arrondissement is full of small parks, squares and gardens that are very little frequented and almost unknown to tourists and Parisians. Our favourites? The pretty square Roger-Stéphane, the garden of the Oudinot clinic, the square Denys-Bühler and the garden Catherine-Labouré. Pleasant walks With its large tree-lined avenues, its buildings with impressive architecture, its majestic bridges, make way for a walk! Special mention for rue Cler, its cobblestones, its bars, its colorful stands of fresh produce and flowers and its neighborhood spirit. Le Bon Marché, the oldest department store Emblematic of Paris, the department stores have almost become a must during a stay in the capital. And the oldest of all, the Bon Marché, is there! The store nevertheless inspired Emile Zola's "Au Bonheur des Dames", all the more reason to go for it.

Passage des Panoramas, 5 seconds from home !

Between 1798 and 1850, covered streets like the Passage des Panoramas were borned. As architecturaly novators as socially necesary, they could shelter luxury shops, restaurants, theatre, bookshops far away from the tumult and the stransports of the city. 15 out of 60 still exist and are classified in the repertory of Historical Monuments. The first Gas Lightning of the city happened in 1816 in this Passage, today stamps and postcards collectors get their treasures there, the others fall in love with the parisian atmosphere of the ancient times seating in a terrace of a very trendy restaurant !
