City/town information
São Vicente Beach consists of three beaches Praia do Calhau, Praia da Faja da areia and Baía dos Juncos. All have great water quality and are enjoyed not only by locals, but by those who visit. Located north of the island, its sea can be a bit rough but it’s quite popular with surfers for this reason. Fajã da Areia where the house is located, is now protected with a sea breaker making this a great place for those who enjoy a variety of sports. It also offers a sundeck with an outdoor café. Baía dos Juncos Club Naval is also another great complex, offering excellent facilities such as a gym, sauna, water sports facilities, bars and restaurants. There is also a promenade, which connects to Varadouro and Baía dos Juncos.
The beach of Porto do Seixal, with black sand, is surrounded by a superb landscape over the Atlantic and the north coast of the island of Madeira. Praia do Porto do Seixal is a small black sand beach that has formed in recent years next to the Port of Seixal. On this beach we can glimpse a magnificent landscape of the north coast of the island of Madeira bordering the Atlantic Ocean.
Although this beach has no surveillance, it has an external shower.
Porto Moniz : Volcanic natural pools
This swimming pool was formed over thousands of years, through the cooling of volcanic lava, and it has crystal clear water, with fish easily visible. The landscape surrounding the pools are unique due to a panoramic view that the swimmer has over the seacoast and the rocks.
Cabo Girão is a popular lookout point, with up to 1800 visitors a day. The location is also a popular starting point for hikers.
