I should preface this by telling y'all that I'm a breakfast snob. - - The Denver Breakfast original. I once gave a ride to one of the higher-ups in the restaurant. It was a snow-day, and a neat ride across town to the Biscuit Company on Colfax. He told me about how the founder of the company fought a tsunami of gluten-free odds to win through. - Personally, I like the Tennyson location better. (I think the Tennyson neighborhood is awesome, period.) Homier. Really what you look for in a breakfast place with epic biscuits. (I happen to have grabbed one of their to-go menus for your perusal.) Try 'The Franklin.'

Snooze started in Colorado. (The original location is just down the street.) But in my humble opinion, the Union Station experience is not-to-be-missed. Try the pancake flight.

Remember when I bragged how my kitchen was designed by the same guys who did one of the coolest coffee locations in Denver? Yeah. (The designer guys are in the store across the street, lol.) Imagine yourself walking down a beautiful and historic Larimer Square, which is decorated like a summer dream: Lights are everywhere and the whole place sings. But then you notice, for the first time it seems, an alcove you've never seen before. Wondering who changed around the architecture, and curious, you walk in to discover a brick tunnel that opens to a courtyard boasting a view of one of Denver's new glass towers. Flowers in urns and decorating lamps and surround Bistro Vendome: A french restaurant hidden in its own quiet corner. I don't know how else to describe it to you, other than this was how I found it. I sat on the garden patio and had the escargot.

Technically located at the northern-most tip of the 16th Street Mall, Little Man is famously shaped like a Milk Jug. Depending on time of day, you can wait in line for upwards of an hour for some really good ice cream. If that sounds weird, its because no one has told you just how much Coloradans like waiting in line outside for food. Don't worry, they often have live music playing... and the surrounding restaurants all have great drink menus.

The one and only, Mile High Stadium. It's 20 minutes from the house (without traffic). Believe me, Ubering costs less than parking if you're here for a game. If there isn't a game, there's a wealth of stores and bars in the stadium open year-round with a lot of cool vistas of the city immediately surrounding the stadium. (If you are seeing a game via rideshare, it is better to set your drop-off/pick-up location a few blocks away from the stadium for both your and your drivers convenience.)

Win or loose, Coors Field is a lot of fun. If you're here during baseball season: Go. See. A. Game. It's a great experience at a beautiful field, with a good'ol American feel to it where everyone is welcome. The fireworks over the Fourth are the best in the city and give Disney a run, or at least a walk. (The cost of parking at the field isn't outlandish, but you'll have a 'bit of a hike' as they say. Rideshare is most efficient a few blocks in any direction out side of the stadium as well. )

On a nice clear -- i.e. clear of traffic -- [week]day, Breck is about 1.5 hours from the house. (The same distance as Rocky Mountain National Park, coincidentally.) Breck is awesome. It's my favorite mountain town. When I was in college, I used to eat and breath Peak 9. I've been 'trapped' there as an Uber Driver -- which isn't so bad because the town is so much fun and its beauty is a sigh of relief. Over winter, you might catch an Ice Sculpture contest; and over summer you're almost guaranteed that someone somewhere will be celebrating something by raising a glass because of some sort of Breck festival.

Going to Boulder? Sigh. If you must. Right here, on the crest of the 'Boulder Bubble' is one of the most beautiful sights on this whole wide earth... and it's off one of the most tricky highway pull-offs anywhere, ever. You'll probably miss it the first time. (You can only access the area heading in one direction, you see.) Don't feel bad if you do, because once you manage to swing around, you're in for one of the most sweeping views of the mountains.

Loveland Pass is the road that goes over the Eisenhower Tunnel. It is the definition of taking the 'scenic rout'. Airy mountain peaks, lush valleys, and hitchhiking snowboarders are just some of the great reasons to go this way. It isn't always open (it's the Continental Divide, after all) but boy if it isn't always pretty when it is. It's a different approach to Breckenridge, Keystone, A-Basin, and Loveland ski resorts and resort towns. I always try to talk people into going this way at least once, there are at least ten spots to pull over for incredible views a long the way.

Want a gen-u-ine Colorado [beginner] trail-running experience? Try "The Incline." Otherwise there is a long gentle loop (which is 10 miles) going around the circumference of the mesa, or a variety of 6-mile-ish half-loops that go over the top. It's a neat, yet eerie experience. Colorado was, long ago. beneath the ocean, so one pictures a pre-historic beach spot. Since it was in Colorado, it was probably the best beach in the ancient world. ; )

This is a tremendously beautiful hiking experience thirty minutes from the house. (I didn't realize how close it was to Black Hawk till I put it on the AirBnB map, though. Lol.) Don't let the distance from the house fool you, this area has hiking from easy to difficult, and is far enough away to be free of city stuff. The road up is easy, windy, and gentle. The Denver Botanic Gardens always seem to have some kind of buzz about them, no matter the time of year.
