Drive to Portland and park in the terminal. Take the MAIL BOAT RUN Monday-Saturday. This will give you the very cheap way of seeing all of Casco Bay. Narrated in the summer months, the ferry will stop at every (public) island in the bay. Get off at Peaks and rent bikes. Don't forget your sweaters! This is a local secret.
