Robert E. Lee was born here....but he was not the beginning of history in this great house. His forefathers started it all by signing off on the Declaration of Independence.....the rest is history. Excellent museum.....great house tour.....old mill....animals....riverfront beach.

Our waterfront, during the week, is a firing range for Dahlgren Naval Weapons Center. Today they are developing the modern rail gun. But stop by this museum for the history of what else has been developed at this military enclave.

You can go to the marina office and rent a kayak for an hour or a day to paddle around the bay or waterfront. We prefer the bay since the waters are calmer and the wildlife more abundant.

On occasion we will stop by with guests and everyone will get a Bloody Mary at the bar and plop down a few dollars on the ponies....Winner picks up the bar tab!
